No, Moore trained him. Moore stated that while Frazier was big and strong, Marciano was "by far the strongest man I ever met"

Harry Matthews, old Jersey Joe, Bernie Reynolds

Carmine Vingo and Rex Layne were both round 6 knockouts

Not my point tho I was asking about Frazier. I know Marciano's early round knockout list is poor. Most are, top quality fighters don't tend to get knocked out early

precisely. It is very rare a prime, world class fighter gets knocked out early.

Didn't he say that Sheppard was the hardest hitter? I don't believe him.
I don't believe him about this.
he also trained George Foreman, I definitely don't believe it.

Not sure what the claim about Sheppard's punching power has to do with the quote on Marciano's strength, but yeah--it's very hard to imagine that Marciano was stronger than George Foreman.

As I've argued (and I hope demonstrated) in the past, you have to be either gullible or driven by an agenda to take most boxers' quotes at face value.

Mathews was a light heavyweight hype job.Walcott elected to stay down imo.Reynolds was not a ranked fighter and had been ko'd in 2 of his last 3 fights.Vingo was a promising novice.Layne was broken down by round after round of bodyshots had slowed him to a walk.
    Marciano was a grinder .

Just to show that Moore isn't always right.

Charles and Cokkel also said they were hit harder by other fighters, guess that's three lying together.

Well if Charles is on about being slapped up and down like a Yo Yo by Marshall or being brutally KOed by Walcott I'd believe him.
    Cockell? Who hit him harder?

Moore said Sheppard hit him the hardest, yet Marciano and Ezzard KOed him. Doesn't make sense does it?

They could fight at 195 catch weight and I’d be picking Marciano because of his stamina, power and most importantly his will too win, there would be virtually no defence, it’s be a fight of the year and I see both going down at some point

Agree id go with frazier as well.

Rocky starts off well. First few rounds keeping frazier backed up .

Then in the mid rounds frazier drops rocky with a left counter hook. Ten count. Rocky makes the count. Frazier rushes in to finish off rocky. Rocky survives the round

7th round frazier goes on rocky who's still hurt from the last round and stops rocky

Dropping him and can't make the count

Frazier has much better wins, is a more natural, fluid fighter, better balanced, better skilled... He invites Marciano to his favorite playground and destroys him. KO5.

Agree 100% percent Marciano doesn't have a win against a great fighter without that fighter having a big question mark by his name, Moore was old and a natural Lt.heavy, Charles was old also a natural Lt. Heavy, Louis, a natural heavy but clearly well beyond his best years, so was Walcott. Ellis, Mathis and of course Ali were not as far past prime as Marciano's best wins and all were natural heavyweights, with Ellis the only one on the smallish side. But Ellis defeated better fighters when considering where they were at the time of their careers, than Marciano did. Frazier beat Ellis, Mathis, and Ali far more convincing than Marciano defeated his best opponents. Frazier, bigger , faster, and better defensively meets Marciano in the center of the ring and slowly, begins to chop him down. Possibly the greatest left hook in heavyweight history, meeting possibly the greatest overhand right hand . 2 fighters that can't spell "retreat " Frazier though bigger, stronger, faster would stop Marciano in my opinion after some shaky moments, Frazier whithin 10rds in possibly the fight of that decade.
