Not a wilder fan however, he is consistently slated for his opponents. Let’s compare wilders wbc run and vitalis

    Wilders

    Won v stiverne
    Molina
    Duhapas
    Sszpilka
    Arreola
    Washington
    Stiverne
    Ortiz
    Fury
    Ortiz
    Then most likely fury again

    Vitali-

    Won v sanders
    Peter
    Gomez
    Arrelloa
    Kingpin Johnson
    Sosnowski
    Briggs
    Solis
    adamek
    Chisora
    Charr

    Thoughts? be honest not biased

If we include Fury then Wilder, who's the best opponent between the two.

If we don't coz Wilder didn't win then Vitali. Sanders would then be the best who I'd pick to Beat Wilder

I just feel opponents like sosnowski, a dodgy stoppage against charr, kingpin, washed up Briggs and adamek are just as poor as anything on wilders run.

Tbh there all so **** I just went of there best opponents.
But the fact that both of there best wins are over 37/8 year old men is quite poor considering both are on paths involving the HOF

Vitali gets a pass for everything because he was so Alpha.

I think fury would outpoint vitali also, vitali doesn’t have one punch power and won’t catch him clean often enough

I constantly remind people of this when I see they mention Vitali as a HOFer but bash Wilder.. Title reigns are shockingly similar and if Wilder beats Fury or AJ/Ruiz he’ll have a better resume tbh..

Wilder and Vitali's runs are similar (you left out Danny Williams from Vitali).

I think Wilder's is better because of Fury and Ortiz. If he fights them twice, Wilder's run is exponentially better (Vitali never successfully defended against a lineal champ, let alone twice).

Wilder is on track for the Hall of Fame, no doubt.

(LOL) No. I think he was rated #8 or something by the WBC. It was after Williams stopped Tyson.

Briggs shouldn't even count as a title defense as he was unranked , shot to bits and had retired due to health issues 3 years earlier.

It would be akin to Wilder cherry picking a Chamber , Adamek or a Chagaev for a title defense.

If you include Tommy Burns' draw with Philadelphia Jack O'Brien, Jack Johnson's draw with Battling Jim Johnson, Evander Holyfield's draw with Lennox Lewis, Chris Byrd's draw with Andrew Golota, and Hasim Rahman's draw with James Toney in their list of successful title defenses ... which everyone does ...

Then why on earth would you exclude Wilder's draw with Fury as a successful title defense?

It was a draw. Wilder successfully defended his WBC title. And, unlike the others, he floored Fury twice during their draw (the only time a defending champ floored his challenger twice, didn't go down himself, and didn't get a win a heavyweight title fight).

Wilder has more of a claim he was victorious against Fury than any of those other champs who didn't drop their challengers and escaped with a draw. I thought Holyfield and Byrd clearly lost their title fights. And they didn't drop Lewis or Golota TWICE to keep it close. But theirs still count as successful defenses.
