I agree completely. Look at the size difference between he and Mikey Garcia side by side. The disparity is huge.
I picked canelo to beat GGG in the rematch! Hey my record isn’t so bad Loma is super skilled and he can outbox Lopez But could he handle the pressure?!!!
hehe This will be a great thread to bump if Teofimo ever faces Loma I just watched Teofimos last fight, and there's levels and Teofimo could never ever be on Lomas level. Loma would make him look stupid. All this 'searching for someone to beat Lomachenko' by all the Loma haters has to stop you're never gonna find someone good enough lo
I've always maintained that Loma beats any version of Lopez. While certainly a worthwhile prospect, Lopez has yet to demonstrate the ring IQ and patience--or, alternatively, the frenetic bull-in-a-China-shop pressure--to frustrate or beat Lomachenko.
My stance on it as well. If Lopez were to beat Commey, he'd have earned the Loma fight, but I wouldn't feel any better about his chances of winning. Now, it looks like he's having second thoughts about Commey and may pull out of that fight.
I'm wondering if Lopez backs out/turns up "injured" and does not fight Commey later this year, could the hard punching Ghanian and Lomachenko meet in what would be a highly anticipated unification clash?? At 135lbs, I always believed that Mikey Garcia would pose the most problems for Lomachenko. If you don't adopt a Salido/Maidana vs Floyd hard rush approach that seeks to smother/suffocate Lomachenko, you have to attempt (apart from landing a Hail Mary type shot) to time and counterpunch the gifted Ukrainian. Mikey has the requisite patience and punch accuracy to have success with that approach. Nevertheless I think Loma's foot and hand speed and, more importantly, movement would earn him a points win over Garcia.
This. It seems he is having a mental break down after that one bad performance which he won. I think he needs to take time off, if his mind game isn't on point. Come back mature and be the best that he can be. I saw an interview that he is having family issues, it might be wise to sort things out. It's not good to have these dark clouds over your mind when you are about to enter the elite level boxing. So my advice to young Teo is have time off and come back when you are mature enough to handle it.
Good test for Loma for sure, but Lopez isn't seasoned enough to best Loma. He might not even beat commey to be honest.
