Matchroom is likely choice after negotiation breakdown with Smith. Wouldn't be surprised if that fight was announced a day or two after him signing. Also, with Eddie Hearn's position at DAZN the Canelo fight wouldn't be a million miles away. Eddie Hearn's comments in interviews recently about BJS have been very tame in comparison to previous years so I think this could've been brewing since breakdown in negotiations...
It’s the right thing all round. It wasn’t working with them two, Frank has nothing to offer him anymore and it’s clear that DAZN would be the best case to go as there’s good fights to be made.
Did Warren fail BJS or did he fail himself? Be interesting to see what he does with himself now. Go down to middleweight again and land a big fight maybe?
He was signed to fight him and failed a VADA test. His choice the 2nd time was fight Andrade for much less money than agreed in the original fight or pick up an easy title at 168....he then becomes the first traveller to be a two weight world champ (big thing for them) and a potential bargaining tool for a big fight. So yeah, I agree he said no but look at why he said no.
Wouldn't have failed that test if he was with Hearn... or at least we wouldn't have heard about it lol
Of course it was less. BJS was no longer champion and no longer has claim to the majority split. If a fight gets made vs Andrade again he will be getting less.
I can't be the only person who doesn't really care about him anymore. He's messed around too much in his career for my liking. He messed Martin Murray around thinking a bigger fight was coming and he's not exactly a nice guy, is he?
I hope he retires and we never hear about him again, he has been a professional for ever and his best win is still probably eubank jnr. He complains that the likes of GGG and canelo have ducked him which is total nonsense, on top of all this he's like watching paint dry 90% of time and he's just a horrible person.
He's not 'absolutely mint.' I made a post the other day that mentioned all his fans ever seem to go on about is that Lemieux fight as though Lemieux is some absolute all time great. The same Lemieux that Golovkin absolutely pasted before Saunders got to him. He's good, but absolutely mint fighters don't waste their careers flailing around in leisure centres looking rubbish against the like of Akavov. His last fight was rubbish as well. And he's got absolutely no fans. If Matchroom snap him up it's presumably with the intention of promoting him as an arsehole to the best they can in the hope of developing a Smith v Saunders PPV.
I think he failed Frank to be honest. Warren put a lot of faith in him, he was front and centre at the BT sport deal launch and Warren consistently talked him up. His reward was the Andrade fight debacle and serial appearances on the front pages of the tabloids for assorted idiocies.
