Do you appreciate Wladimir Klitschko after Ruiz beat Joshua?

People always complained about Wladimir Klitschko's boring style and lack of competition during his reign. They often claimed Wlad is not that great and they even called him "Grabimir Klitschko" because he used grabbing.

Ruiz's victory against Joshua proved that heavyweight boxers are all dangerous, and protecting your titles against those guys is not easy work. Ruiz wiped the floor with Joshua and humiliated him, although nobody thought that he would win. Actually people were criticizing AJ for picking Ruiz instead of Wilder, the said "he is afraid of Wilder and he is cherry picking his opponents".

If Anthony Joshua had the technique of Wladimir Klitschko, he wouldn't lose against Ruiz. That means Wlad would easily destroy Ruiz.

In my opinion people should appreciate how great boxer Wladimir Klistchko is, for dominating the heavyweight division for a decade.

 

Grabbing is illegal so no. Clinches should be at most accidental.

IMO all intentional clinches should be an automatic minus 1 point. It’s boxing not wrestling or UFC.

 

Both Wilder & Fury atm are cherry picking opponents by the looks of it,the Zero means more to these guys.
Wilder next faces the old man again & Fury fights a guy I've never heard of.@ least AJ faced boxers worth watching.

Many of us are still waiting on Dildovelvets demonstration on the heavy bag. He claimed to be able to “Hit the bag better than Wlad.”

And regarding the thread... Prime Wlad would beat Joshua in brutal fashion. And Ruiz.

Wlad was a bit boring, but joshua is a poor man’s wlad and not because he lost to ruiz , he’s just less skilled and even more fragile than wlad.
I’m sure prime wlad beats joshua and ruiz .

Wlad was 100% a superior boxer to Joshua, but there were times when the grab style was just absurd. The Povektin fight was an abomination where Wlad was doing 'leaping hugs' from range.

Also it's hard to forgive him for not finishing off Joshua and derailing the hype train at that critical moment. He'd done the flashdisk sewn into his robe and everything. Then to cap off that night of horrors, he became besties with Joshua and kept inviting him to the Austrian ranch for nude saunas.

 

I appreciate Klitschko for his long reign.. it is among the best ever by a heavyweight.

That's where my appreciation ends though. I found Klitschko's style to be extremely frustrating to watch. Nothing worse than a big powerful guy who has every physical advantage over every one of his opponents and still employs a safety first , jab your opponent to death style.

I think if Klitschko had been more aggressive, he probably wouldnt have been champ as long, but he would have been in more exciting fights and he would have a lot more fans today.

Hell, Rocky Marciano only had six defenses if Im correct, hardly comparable to Klitckos reign....but Marciano 's fights were legendary, and people still talk about them to this day

What fights are we going to remember from Wlad?

 

Wlad was an ideal athlete, he was always in great shape, but after he started working with the Steward, his style, his performances in the ring became a good remedy for insomnia. And some of his fights, like a fight with David Haye, were supposed to be NC or a draw.

 

This is ironic, but the most of Vlad's watchable and exciting fights are fights in which he lost, except for the fight with Fury.

 

The problem with klitschko and Joshua was they didn't have the chin, heart and spirit to just beat the **** out of little fatties like ruiz jr.
