Haymon got Pacquiao, can't say never with with him but anytime Haymon succeeds Floyd acts as if he succeeded, so he would celebrate even if he never made a dime with Canelo.
The thing is, even though I and alot of people don't think he won, I believe Canelo truly thinks that he beat Golovkin twice and probably feels that it is beneath him to keep having to prove to the public that he has to avenge (in his mind) a win over a guy he feels he beat twice. I don't think he's scared of Golovkin at all.
Nah Canelo knew he got lucky the first time and was bossed about by GGG in the rematch. The most gruelling fight Canelo has ever been in and he doesn’t want that again. GGG is a monster he’s happy for another battle like that.
This is the problem with DAZN. They make promises they can’t keep. Like when Eddie Hearn tried to sign Wilder to a $100m three fight deal with the promise of a Joshua fight included and now look at what’s happened. If Wilder signed that deal he might not even have gotten Joshua for a unification. I keep telling you guys that DAZN’s boxing business will end up in catastrophic failure.
This is actually the closest to the truth, good sources report Canelo thinks he won the second fight clearly and giving a third fight would be an admission of doubt. Hence his request for GGG to get a belt, so that the third fight would be about unifying rather than clearing the doubt. It's about Canelo's image and ego. That puts DAZN in breach of contract w.r.t. GGG because they promised him the trilogy, so it's not surprising that GGG is preparing lawyers. Canelo is also unhappy with GBP for promising the GGG fight and taking a large chunk of the money (among other matters). All the jibes at Canelo and GGG about this are false to the best of my knowledge, Canelo is not scared of the third fight @Gennady @Can I box and neither is GGG being a diva @dinovelvet @Pimp C . GGG is simply preparing to enforce the contract he signed.
GGG is pretty convinced he beat Canelo too and Canelo is a VERY LUCKY guy, In boxing history a long reigning undefeated champion will always get a rematch after losing their first fight but Canelo being the golden boy managed to keep that away from the contract. Also Canelo is more bothered about how much the fight takes out of him than GGG is.
At this point anyone saying Canelo is afraid of anyone is delusional. He has basically fought every single fighter everyone said he would duck. And it isn't like he is selecting one tailor-made style either, he is fighting different types of fighters. Now he is negotiating to fight Andrade which I really hope happens. I would love to see a 3rd fight with GGG but even if you feel Canelo lost the first 2 (I do) he showed much better than anyone thought and took BOMBS from the boogeyman and essentially walked through them. Canelo should have losses on his record, but if you don't like him...you basically don't like boxing. I didn't like the catchweight fights and I don't like the corrupt judging, but Canelo didn't invent that stuff. That garbage has been in boxing forever.
Well Golovkin keeps demanding fights from people he has openly insulted , disrespected and belittled continuously over 2 fights. How do you think Canelo felt about being called a fake Mexican? How do you think he felt about being mocked for wearing "marathon shoes"? He addressed the criticisms he received from the first fight by walking into Golovkin and giving him the fight they said he hadn't the courage for. Canelo gave GGG two fights , one even being in the style Golovkin requested. Along with that Canelo set GGG up for life giving him two huge pay days. In his mind he is done with Golovkin. Golovkin is being desperate clinging to Canelo and in my mind thats the behavior of a diva!
Golovkin schooled him and kept coming, Canelo thought those body shots would have slowed him down but that wasn’t the case. When Canelo went back to his corner in the latter rounds his corner told him to fight smart because Golovkin was too strong.
