Am I wrong to not drink the Usyk Kool-Aid?

I’m not impressed either, the only semi fun fight was against Bellew. I doubt Usyk will be as successful at heavyweight as ppl seem to think.

The fact that you think Tony Bellew is his best win shows just what an idiotic casual you really are. And if anything maybe a little bit of Kool-Aid would do you some good. Most famous, most charismatic and being a good bull****ter does not equal quality, Gabriel Rosado is also in Creed, I highly doubt anyone is rating him that highly on anyone's win list. Although I do rate Tony higher than Gabe, slightly.

His wins over Briedis, Hunter, Gassiev, Glowacki and even Huck all rate higher than Bellew. His win over Tony, is in the ballpark of his Mchunu win, which is not meant to be an insult. Bellew and Huck are the only two that rate as has beens, although both had shown good form recently before he beat them both.

No one was previously rating Usyk highly based on his resume, but on his mind blowing skill-set instead. Although by now his resume is starting to match his skill set, and thus far he's lived up to all the ridiculously high expectations set for him by the people that have hyped him, quite frankly he's starting to exceed them. If you can't with your own two eyes look at the man while fully processing what you're seeing and not instantaneously appreciate him, it's because you're going out of your way not to. And of course being a hater. But that's kind of obvious point of this thread isn't it?

Ruiz and Wilder are taylor-made for him. Ruiz has slow feet and is shorter than Usyk, Wilder was outboxed by Artur Szpilka for 8 rounds. Szpilka is 6'3'' southpaw (just like Usyk), but Usyk is millions times better boxer - he has much better speed, defensive and offensive skils, accuracy, stamina, IQ, chin and footwork. Usyk is MUCH better than Szpilka in everything except of power. And Szpilka was able to outbox Wilder for 8+ rounds and even make a fool of him sometimes. Watch this video from 1:28

Fury, on the other hand, is all wrong for Usyk. He is the only heavyweight whom I'd favour to beat Usyk

If Fury can stay off the coke and Greggs he murks Usyk.

I don't have high expectations for Usyk at heavyweight.
But I do really like him and have followed him since before London 2012. Good skill set, great athletic ability with the drive to stay in elite level condition ..mostly I love his enormous balls. No airs and graces with dat boi.

Cruiserweight >>>>> Super Middleweight, Junior Middleweight, Junior Welterweight, Junior Lightweight, Junior Featherweight, Flyweight, Junior Flyweight, Strawweight.
 ****ing hell those "Junior" divisions suck.
And there could be made an argument for the WBSS Cruiserweight guys being better than Featherweight, Lightweight and Bantamweight.

Cruiserweight is stacked with talent, and has been so for a while now. It's a great division to follow as the fights are awesome and fantastic match-ups are made on the regular.

Are you sure you know what cruiserweight even is? I'd argue it's one of the top 3 divisions right now, its a shark tank and has been for several years.

I like Usyk, but I am worried Wilder will have 12 rounds to land a bomb on his head, even if he loses every round otherwise. Half an hour is a long time to land one money punch. Fury found that out, after dodging around a hundred of them.
I don't like Ward or Oakland though.

I don't think the cruiserweight he breezed through was a weak division and would pick Breidis, Gassiev and Dorticos to have easily made the heavyweight top 10 at the time they were in the tourney.

Some guys have a pretty hard agenda here and also no idea about boxing.

Cruiserweight is the top division. Last year they had such a stacked top 10, it was just unbelievable.

There are at least 4 guys in the top 10 who imo would be top 10 at heavy without a doubt.
Usyks resume is the best of a one division champ since probably 1970.

He beat on the road in each of his opponents hometown everybody!!!
    - Glowacki was an unbeaten prime real champ who dethroned Marco Huck (atg at cruiser)
    - hunter (great talent who is now making noise at heavy)
    - huck (past prime atg cruiser in his hometown)
    - breidies (unbeaten prime real champ and very talented tough guy in his hometown =》 imo easily top 10 fighter at heavy)
    - gassiev (unbeaten prime real champ in his hometown => also easily top 10 at heavy, imo he would smoke parker, whyte, ruiz, chisora and would give joshua and wilder hell)
    - bellew (overrated but good fighter in his hometown again)

So usyk beat clearly 2 A+, 4 A fighters in like 15 fights. Show me someone who even beat 2 A fighters in their country ???!!!

Usyk Is the truth and imo the next heavy champ. He will school the ××× out of wilder and joshua. Ruiz would get humiliated by usyk, only fury will be difficult cause of his defensive style and size, but I see usyk also stopping him late, the speed Will be the difference against fury

I really worry that this puny Usyk, with his master boxing skills will struggle to fend off this huge behemoth heavyweights. I don't want to see him beaten down by overweight blobs like Kownacki and Andy Ruiz. Lol.

He's spouted that same crap for years now, despite being called out on it numerous times.

He also holds some really weird thoughts on the division. Like he thought Gassiev was trash and Dorticos couldn't punch. He also thought Bellew was the best cruiserweight in the world and would knock out Usyk.

In other words, he's a mong.

To be fair to the OP, I can see why some people might not necessarily rate Usyk as absurdly high as everyone else.

I was actually not that impressed with Usyk when I first saw him. Like, I could recognise that he had skills and a very awkward style, but he always seemed a bit ragged and sloppy to me, and quite hittable. It took me a number of fights to really appreciate what a truly great fighter he is. It's not his skills that are the standout quality for me (although they're very good) but his adaptability and ability to move up another gear when you don't think it's possible.

Watch any of his fights and if his opponents are any good they're usually able to hang with him for a couple of rounds. But after about the fourth or fifth you notice the change in momentum. Suddenly his opponents aren't landing as frequently, or they've stopped throwing, or they're starting to get hit a lot more. By the eighth or ninth they're in full on run or shell mode and Usyk has suddenly turned into the Energizer bunny. That's been the pattern of his fights for too long now for me to criticise his opponents, and is what makes Usyk such a standout fighter.
