So I was in a rental car today traveling for business with SXM radio and listening to the boxing show with Randy Gordon — Bernard Hopkins was filling in for Gerry Cooney. BHop has a relationship with DAZN and near the end of the show he says he texted Fast Car Eddie for an update on AJ-Ruiz II in hopes of breaking some news. He said Eddie replied and said the fight is going to be at a neutral site — presumably eliminating Wales as has been bandied about. Randy and Hop speculated on what that might mean: is USA considered neutral because Ruiz is being billed as Mexican? Could it go to some African country? Europe outside the UK? Then they ran out of time. No idea what this means but it was interesting. Thought I’d pass it along.
Dubai ? Also Ruiz claims Mexican, so a fight anywhere in East Coast United States could be considered nuetral
joshua wants it back at MSG. hearn has to deal with the symantics and whats already booked up at MSG for end of year, probably a popular time of year
Hasn’t Joshua recently had a trip to Nigeria? It would be both home advantage and neutral, given Joshua’s Nigerian heritage. They seemed to love him there. With Ruiz apparently playing awkward with his contract I can see it being somewhere like that.
Either the uk or stateside or Mexico or Nigeria. Really bugs me when they have it in the middle of nowhere like Dubai so both fans have to pay more and travel
