the longer distance running records in NZ athletics,im thinking off the top of my head so if you go check and prove me wrong ill accept but I distinctly remember a guy called Peter Snell holding the 800 m from 1962? Also unless its been broken recently a guy called John Walker from the early 70s held multiple middle distance records. Im sure if we are talking world records theres a few from the 80s that have never been broken

Fury has done nothing and beaten nobody except Wlad in the worst heavyweight title fight ever, to even suggest that he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Ali.

Fury has great movement for a fighter of his size. But if you pause video on 2:12 you can see what I think about this fight :)
"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. Fury can't hit what his eyes can't see."

I’m finding it hard to make a case for fury here, I can’t see any attributes fury has that Ali hasn’t faced overcome and is better in that department. Eg A. height Tyson is only 6ft7 contrary to him trying to build himself uphttps://images.app.goo.gl/5J9R23szCQFePjMp7 here he is next to a real 6ft 9 man, Magic Johnson. And next to 6ft 8 price https://images.app.goo.gl/cZSaijc3M1W8Lwz59 plus Tyson is always leaning down to slip punches negating any height advantage you think he may have, he doesn’t fight tall. Ali fought terell at 6ft 6 just an inch smaller than fury and absolutely beat him easy. see someone’s video somewhere on here, also Kevin Johnson a 6ft3 238lb fat man at 3 weeks notice took fury to a decision, so Ali would easily see the last bell no doubt, So Height not a problem. B reach Ali has fought many men with reaches around 83-84 inches and never had a problem getting around that with his movement. Plus as we have seen many times and more recent Joshua - Ruiz reach don’t mean sh—. C speed. Tyson’s foot speed isn’t that great all his speed is above the waist trying to slip punches of which Ali is still the faster man. And as far as foot speed is concerned Ali is infinitely quicker, no comparison. D weight Ali has been in with a fighter roughly 260lbs and had no trouble with the guys power or weight in clinches ect if necessary so weight is of the table. E power , Tyson has no power probably no more than Ali himself and he’s not a puncher, but even if he has more than Ali once again he’s been in with much harder punches than fury several in fact so that’s a gonner. F chin Ali has one of the all time great chins at heavy. Not sure about fury yeah he got up from wilder but his power is overrated I believe and he can’t box for toffee.G stamina and punch output Ali s stamina obviously is far better and punch output far greater, fury only gets away with this poor quality because he’s fighting slow ponderous overweight heavies of today with similar outputs. H resume, Tyson has only fought a gun shy 41 year old has been and a guy who can’t box for toffee. So please why would anyone think that fury would beat Ali in a prime for prime fight and why.

Fury on points. Too big. Not many prime 70s sports people beating todays prime, not least one with a considerable height/weight/reach advantage.

Ali’s speed and footwork would cause Fury problems and he would be more active versus Fury’s two punches a round. They both have that ability to adapt, doing the unexpected and coming out on top but Ali is on another level in this regard for me, it’s proven as well against past all timers that were arguably better than Fury.

There is nothing new under the sun. Boxers of yesteryear carried less muscle mass and were fitter. Id dispute whether carrying bodybuilder type muscle actually enables you to hit harder,i dont know whether thats true or not. In my opinion force is a product of speed and flexibility and having muscle can inhibit that. Also as in regards to those Athletic records, its only been tiny increases over the last 50 years which could be put down to improved running surfaces, weather conditions and more accurate timing. Technology has improved, athleticism not as much as you think. If at all. The long jump record for example has only been broken once in 50+ years.

Ali's "big bad monster was 6'3" 220lb's goerge foreman

Tyson Fury is 6'8" 260 pounds.

Ali wouldn't get past Fury's jab.

If boxing was based purely on height reach and weight then there wouldnt be a 6 ftish heavyweight champion. Its more complicated than that. Theres intangibles that arent easily accounted for nor can be explained on paper. Big fat lol to insinuating that Fury would dissuade Ali with his power, Foreman couldnt break Alis spirit and that man hit like a god damn truck.
