Hearns KO'd Duran yet Duran is considered greater, Mayweather UD Pac, Pac considered greater

I'm going by the record book but to act as if all those fights weren't close and a devastating KO doesn't mean more is ridiculous. Yes Pac is 2-1-1 against JMM but JMM got the best win out of the series and is often seen to have won the war. BTW Pac didn't beat them better he often beat them after PBF and beat worse versions than PBF did. PBF beat JMM with ease just like he beat Pac with ease. Triangle theories usually don't work in boxing but they do when talking about PBF.

 

It doesn’t matter if they are close. I’m going to quote many a Floyd fanatic here, “a win is a win”. I think kos are more convincing wins, but it doesn’t count as an extra win on the record. Manny bested Marquez in their rivalry since you want to go by record books. No type of talking points change that. Its ok to say you have different standards for different fighters. I don’t hold that against you. You owned up to it. I salute your honesty.

 

Pac did get more wins in the series but they're still contested and talked about to this day. They were all very close fights that Pac got the nod in two. One fight that they can't do that with is the 4th one in which JMM scored a devastating KO win. It was the biggest win of the series, that's all I'm saying.

Completely different scenarios. JMM knocked out Pac Hopkins didn't knock out RJJ. Not only that RJJ was shot when Hopkins beat him. Pac wasn't shot when he got stopped by JMM.
