in my opinion Fury needs better tests before the Wilder rematch, let's be honest the opponents he's facing are bums. His team have chosen the wrong level of opponents People are forgetting that Wilder now has the experience of being in there with Fury and I think he'll be a lot better in the rematch letting his hands go a lot more.. Fury will not avoid Wilders right hand for 12 rounds!
Fury is a unique guy in that he can effortlessly jump up and down the levels and keep outboxing guys, while his weight fluctuates. For me, the most important aspect of the Wilder rematch is not Fury's recent opponents, but the fact he's been in shape and kept sharp. Schwartz was awful but Fury looked faster and more powerful than ever and that's because it was the longest period of his career he's been in shape. A less than 100% Fury completely outboxed prime Wilder for 10 of 12 rounds. That means a better version of Fury should win conclusively this time. In saying that, Wilder is an absolute freak who can spark any man alive at any stage of a fight so anything can happen. That's why it's a great fight that the world needs to see. Get it signed!! Ruiz/AJ 2 and Fury/Wilder 2 within a few months would be epic.
The rematch never ever happens folks. Wilder having already lost once, but got a gift “draw” : will not be allowed to face Fury again. Tyson Fury will have to set his sights on different opposition for a big money retirement party. I can see Tyson Fury AJ happening very soon. In Easter of next year in fact. I know the Wilder fans are calling for Stiverne 3, and rematches with Dustin Nichols and Harold Sconiers.
I’ll be very shocked if it happens in February as suggested. And I think you’re right about Joshua Fury. Especially if Joshua beats Ruiz in the rematch.
It's possible. His problem wasn't not letting his hands go, though. He just missed a lot. If Fury uses the same defensive moves, which are quite set in, and Wilder is drilled by his masters to deal with this, he just has to connect a few clean ones during the course of the fight. I'm a little concerned by that, actually. It's a simple game plan for the simpleton to follow and he has a chance of pulling it off. It's harder for Fury to box a perfect fight. this is why Roach's attitude of trying to take Wilder out so he doesn't have 12 rounds to find the target might have more merit than it seems.
It's a triple figure fight so id be surprised if it did not happen. Wilder is 34 this year so is potentially at his physical peak and given Fury's history of unpredictability February would be the perfect time to strike but I think both parties will wait until the outcome of Joshua v Ruiz. This presents several more 'outs' for both boxers depending on who gets the nod. If Ruiz wins I expect Wilder to unify with him and if Joshua wins they will go with Fury.
Whenever wilder fights a top 10 - 15 guy it's only going to go one of two ways He either knocks them out or he loses, let's face it most would out box him it's just that he is such a freak he usually knocks them out.
Not sure about that. Despite all these weird tune-ups, I feel Fury's record of going to fight Klitschko in Germany and taking on Wilder 6 months into his comeback means you have to give him the benefit of the doubt. I think unfortunately the Wilder fight isn't happening so soon because the two of them have contractual obligations. I think both would happily take the fight next if possible.
To be fair, it’s only really gone one way throughout his career. He’s not the best boxer fundamentally, but I really like him. Once he gets a feel for a fighters rhythm, he times then beautifully with phenomenal speed, power & reach. He’s also got a good chin and tons of heart. I’m a fan of Fury, but if there’s one fighter who can starch him, it’s Wilder.
The thing is, the more he lets his hands go with those wild telegraphed swings, someone as slick as Fury will see them coming leaving more opportunity to counter. Lets remember after comprehensively boxing Wilders head off over 12 rounds whilst coming off the back of kebab and Columbian marching powder diet, Fury will be have only got even better with numerous camps under his belt coming into the rematch.
I still think at some point in the fight Wilder lands clean at least once maybe twice, but this time around I don't think Fury makes the count OR he does make the count and Wilder jumps on him immediately
All Wilder has to do is re watch the first fight and work out fury’s movement patterns, I’m betting the house on wilder to stop fury this time.
Wilder's a donkey. Fury already took him to school once, next time he beats him even more convincingly.
