That one just crossed my mind.

    - Cassius Clay, 22, 210 1/2 beating Liston

    - Muhammad Ali, 32, 216 1/2 beating Foreman

Clay was faster and had better conditioning

Muhammad had a slight edge in ring IQ.

    I'd give it to Clay

I remember an interview Ali explaining why the young Clay (in his eyes) was not able to beat Foreman. Of course Ali always boosted himself on such occasions, but he sounded more rational this time.

64 Ali was better seeing as he could still dance and didn't need to resort to the rope-a-dope.

Cassius Clay. Always remember my grandad who boxed in the Navy in the 60's once said young Ali/Cassius Clay was the best boxer he'd ever seen and was a different fighter completely to later Ali.

He'd still beat Foreman to but not so much with the rope a dope .He wouldn't have to imo .
