“Back in my day, they didn’t throw towels ... we just threw the fight. And we liked it that way!”

I've got one, the Golden gloves.

These solid gold gloves will be suspended above the ring and can drop at any point in the fight, the first fighter to get them can then go ham on his opponent wearing the solid gold gloves.

This 'black towel' idea is as bad as the Olympic Taekwondo video replay rule.

Well, maybe only in the first round or two. Just as a protection from lucky punches, for example. Otherwise it will only deliver sustained beating, which is the most dangerous.

I understand where you're coming from but all of this comes from fighters not wanting to quit and in any case a few minutes rest wouldn't be enough to diagnose much and would stop the flow of the fight.
Sounds bad but you earn the right to beat your opponent, start introducing rules like that and it would alter fights.
ie Joshua only goes down three times(couldn't help that)

Imo this is just adding to the problem.

This is simply giving a temporary out to a fighter taking a one sided beating and allowing him an unnatural path to continuation of that punishment once the fight resumes.

In that one minute break... he may regain some balance, some breath, and some energy, but his brain will still be under concussive effects from the trauma, and giving him a break to potentially allow him to fight past what he would naturally be able to, ultimately just allows his brain to take more punches, imo.

This is a great idea. There should also be a blue towel that the opposite corner can throw at any point during the black towel 1 minute break which would mean the action resumes immediately. Also when there’s too many towels in the ring the ringside doctor must throw a microwave into the ring to signal to the referee that he needs to remove the 20 towels currently piled up.

All for new thinking, but the flaws in this idea have been highlighted above. It risks doing more damage than it prevents.

How about a giant towel that's thrown over both boxers during Okolie fights? The action can continue but no one has to watch it.

One of the most ridiculous things I've read here, and that's saying something.
You already know that's going to be abused widely to prevent fighters from getting stopped or suffering 10-7 rounds and the damage to go with it.
This largely affects punchers negatively, certainly the guys that wait for that one moment and are good finishers, while the point fighters and the ones that can't lose on the cards get another layer of security.
I can already see instances where one corner knows they're ahead 3 points or more going into the final round, just throwing that towel once the first punch landed wether their fighter is in trouble or not, securing the win.
