How about this: at the beginning of every round the ref pulls a card from his pouch that determines the nature of the round. White card means the round goes on as normal. Green card means an extra minute and a fighter that gets knocked down has twenty seconds to get up. Red card means the first fighter to get a knock down wins the fight by KO, regardless of if it's a flash knockdown or not. Black card means both fighters get a three minute break. Pink card means neither fighter is allowed to punch unless they're in the clinch. Stripey card means the ref gets to fight both boxers, and they have to work together to defend themselves from him till the next round.
If you stop an action packed round like that is like preventing the audience from blowing their load. Next thing will be thrown is gonna be lots of folding chairs.
Sorry dude its already enforced in new York. That's exactly what they did for wilder in the Ortiz fight.
Ring card girls fanning the fighters down with towels between rounds. Need a commission to enforce rules and nominate myself.
I like all these ideas great work guys I was thinking you could throw in a needle shape towel which means that both fighters can rush back to the corner and juice up as fast as possible A skull and crossbow towel which means for 30 seconds anything goes , get the corners involved , knives , guns anything
A towel fight with the corner men would be a better idea. Or a towel tug of war. Losing team loses their fighter a point!
Shame. I willingly, gracefully share one of my brilliant ideas to help better a sport we all love but the closed minded users of ESB are unable to see past the old archaic ways. You cannot teach an old dog new tricks, indeed indeed. I guess from now on my teachings will only be given to those who appreciate it. Tsk tsk
Lol Lol that's why the fighter can take a knee. I don't like the idea of the round ending. What if a fighter is ahead in the fight gets tagged up in the last round and his corner throws in the towel thusly ending the fight. No chance of the great comeback. I'll pass and give your idea a D-.
