Of course he didn’t know how many siblings he had altogether. Helen had one child before she married Tobe, and Tobe had 13 children with his first wife. Sonny wouldn’t have known any of these half siblings. Tobe and Helen had 12 children together. Sonny was the second youngest child of his fathers second wife. so even among these kids many of the older ones might have been grown up and gone away before Sonny knew them.

Tobe Liston certainly put it about a bit.

Nobody can be certain about Liston's age ,that is my point.

Their is a difference between being past it and absolutely done. Frazier was the former. He had more left in the tank. Manila was proof of this.

Many above call this one perfect and mcvey your one of them, Pinpoint description of how this one most likely goes, Liston was known to be an excellent boxer but due to his power never had to use it often if at all, he had a huge reach and whoever above here said similar in size is pretty funny. I look at Frazier I see and clearly get the impression of a short fighter, solid but short, Liston appears as a beast to me, large uppderbody, long arms, huge head, and he scared people with his Power, Marciano may be glad he retired early and never faced Liston. Liston is clearly bigger, that is definitely not in question once you look at both and their stats, Liston did have power in both hands, 1 Punch KO Power, great chin, Frazier was a 1 armed Fighter, reminded me of Cooney, tremendous left but he may as well have had just 1 arm, Sonny was actually a very smart fighter, he would easily beat a 1 arm bandit, even an ATG like Frazier, there is a reason Joe Purposely avoided fighting Ron Lyel & Earnie Shavers and others, no matter what I heard Frazier say back in the day and I became a boxing fan with the 1st Ali - Frazier fight and Frazier was everyone's guy in my class back then, I don't care what he says in those interviews in the day, he avoided guys or at the least his Camp avoided them for him and then he could claim he never avoided them, just like he never quit in the 3rd fight against Ali, but his Camp stopped it for him. Liston has an easier time than you think, Frazier was a very slow starter and had to get into a good rythm and figure out a guys style, he said once in an interview I can watch film all day, but it takes me some rounds to see for myself, it ends badly for a game Frazier that fights hard till he goes down for the count.

Sonny was a big guy but he would not dwarf fighters like Marciano or Frazier for height at least. Look at this photo.

Prime for prime I have always favoured Rocky and Frazier against Sonny. Liston was a great fighter though and better than the guys Rocky fought. You just can’t confuse Rocky or Frazier for Floyd Patterson or Joe Frazier for Marciano. They were all different.

Liston would have devastated marciano in a round maybe 2. He would have beat up frazier and stopped him in 8 or less may be even 2 or 3. The hook could have had a little more effect on him then foreman but not enough to overcome his power advantage.

If he did, he'd wake up and apologise.
