Round 1 Cormier 10-9 Round 2 Cormier 10-9 Round 3 Cormier 10-9, close Round 4 Miocic wins by KO Stipe coming forward, jabbing, DC taking the round off thus far. Hard looping left from DC, Stipe landing to the body. And again, good round for Miocic. DC still getting in hard rights. Stipe goes to the body again. Hard rights to the body from Stipe, he's breaking DC down. DC lands hard short right. Hook to the body hurts Cormier, he follows up with a one two, Cormier crashes into the cage, Stipe unloads, Cormier crumbles to the canvass. Its over.
How on earth did Cormier manage to drop 30lbs from their first fight if he didn't take Stipe seriously?
He's also in his 40s now, but the better man won tonight. Part of being better is being smarter. Both fought really dumb fights for three rounds. Cormier, while getting the better of it through three, walked in face first, and got repeatedly punched in the face, by a big power puncher. Not a very good idea. He seemed to start gassing, but also may have been punchy by the third round. He only once took Miocic down, which is mind boggling when wrestling was Cormier's advantage. Miocic fought dumb for three rounds, refusing to use his reach, height, and boxing advantages. Letting a shorter, much portlier man, just walk in and bust his face up with jabs, hooks, uppercuts, overhand rights, and an eye poke or two. I'd have punted Cormier's nuts through the ceiling if he poked me in the eye like that. The light bulb finally went off in Miocic's head in round four though. He started applying a ruthless body attack to that flabby body of Cormier, and started breaking him down, using boxing ability. That was one of the more brutal finishing sequences as well.
Poetic justice guys, cant be backing a blatant cheat. Sounds like he was trying to win by eye pokes again too..This is how it should've gone first time imo. I got up and darted for the pc to see this result, well happy for Miocic. Cormier is SCUM
Good win for Miocic. Prime for prime DC will probably always spark him but at his age now, I think DC should retire.
Cool fights with the 3 main fights delivering as expected ,Diaz and Costas performances were the stand outs for me,age seemingly caught up to Cormier who i had 3 rounds to 0 up before the stoppage,it's probably 50-50 if he retires or comes back for a trilogy with Miocic
