BT are quite new to boxing but already seem to be producing better analysis than Sky Sports This content is protected this video alone is better than any of Skys "analysis", which usually is Johhny Nelson and Carl Froch trying to stay composed through a segment before they snort the next line
I've seen some of the Woodall and Jones break downs before and it's usually pretty good. Better than SKy's, I would agree. They posted a clip of a Loma-Campbell breakdown between Paulie, Nelson, Bellew, Haye and someone else who currently evades me. There is literally one person worth listening to out of that lot
Well that's how you get better content isn't it? By airing your views and opinions. If someone from sky is on here or anywhere for that matter and they see or hear people commenting on how much better B.Ts coverage is , it might just be enough for the competing company's to pull their socks up and start improving their work.
There's a lot to like about the way BT present and market their content. If I had a criticism, it would be that the post fight panel, typically Woodall, Bunce and one other, doesn't produce much insight. The same could be said for the Sky equivalent of course.
Both crap imo, Barry Jones isn't too bad but Woodhall bores me to tears. I'm actually struggling to name anyone I like in either production.
I prefer BT. Malignaggi is by far the best pundit Sky have and yet only one who will go against the agenda. Bellew and Paul Smith offer good insights into the technicalities of the actual sport but are too biased. Moore was good but he was never allowed on and now trains more people anyway so wouldn’t have the time. Most of the rest of them are garbage. Oversized glasses Anna and former oversized beak Carl need to **** off. They’re both clueless. When Sky started with the PC we must have a woman presenting the boxing they got Kate Abdo who was far better but left. BT isn’t perfect, I know many people cant stand Bunce and Jones but i don’t mind any of their team really.
That's the kind of analysis Sky used to do back in the day with Barry McGuigan and Glen McCrory narrating videos showing clips of the fighters that highlighted their strengths and weaknesses and what tactics they should use. Sadly all that has been binned in favour of Del Boy flipping tables and Eddie producing generic soundbites.
BLASPHEMY! Dempsey is a legend. There's no predicting what leftfield tangent he's going to embark on. They should post up 'Anything could happen in the next half hour' before he speaks. They also have a very foxy looking girl who is doing some of the pre fight interviews with the boxers. Don't know her name sadly but she's doing a decent job from what I've seen. Then Tris Dixon does some good profiles as above.
They revived it recently with a couple of ex fighters in the ring before a fight showing different approaches. Seem to remember Badou Jack taking part in one, was really good.
Dempsey is quite comical In a Alan Partridge sort of way, I can imagine the bt sports gaffers saying to each other "who the hell employed this idiot"
Sky had Bellew do this for a fight a few years back. Can't remember who now. But it was pretty decent. They only did it the once though. Weird how they've got rid of shows like Ringside when boxing is/was booming would have been a perfect fit on that.
I can imagine the producers sharp intake of breath every time Dempsey goes off script. No one knows what will come out of that noggin
