Heavy sparring is probably not ideal but nothing will sharpen your skills better than being in a ring with multitude of skilled fighters. There is a reason why it’s remained an integral part of every fighters training camp.
Sparring is the only way forward. Otherwise you end up like those martial artists that train and train and train in their basement, but can't implement none of it in a fight. Boards don't hit back. Boards don't defend themselves Boards, don't move around. Boards don't throw feints.
You can’t learn timing and distance without sparring, I think it’s rubbish that he doesn’t spar. Did he really go over to the mayweather gym for months and never spar the whole time?
He has to study tapes of Kovalev also, he`s going to get battered, he doesn`t even know what Kov`s going to do, he`s going in blind.
Spot on. He did spar over there though, I remember some guys from the gym talking about it. This can't be true. There's no way a guy with a very abbreviated amateur career and early in his pro career gets to where Yarde is without some sparring.
The only way Kovalev loses this is if he's been training on beer and vodka for the past month. I thought Yarde had a decent chance but statements like this lately from him lead me to believe Kovalev is going to mallet him. I hope for Yarde's sake he's being facetious and is trolling us.
How epic would a win from Yarde be by jumping from bums to Kovalev with little to no sparring in training??? Damn son, he would be the real deal.
Yarde means sparring like an Idiot. Of course he spars hard & Ko's ppl in sparring but he believes most actually lose more than gain in their work hard not smart mentality. Yarde spars 25 rounds of med sparring vs 10 rounds of all out sparring. Maybe if AJ hadn't been KO'd by so many in sparring wars he'd have a chin
