I’m going to assume this is at 135, as Hector wasn’t really prime past that weight (and was probably peak at 130) ... and Aaron was a top lightweight before he stepped up to beat Cervantes at 140 because he couldn’t get a title shot (at least not on his timetable) at his natural weight. I don’t see Camacho being stopped. Too fleet of foot. Too savvy. And too good of a chin — only down once IIRC in almost 90 fights, and that came way near the end when he was just a small-time casino attraction. Pryor is far too much for him but Hector maybe steals a few rounds and survives to see the final bell.
I bump old threads all the time. The great thing about Classic is most of the discussions from however long ago can be jump-started at any time as it doesn’t depend on contemporary interest or happenings. And I’d rather see an interesting old thread that already has some context and discussion recycled than to start the second or fifth or 20th version. But hey, Marciano vs. Dempsey anyone? Surely that one hasn’t come up before.
Pryor by decision with a knockdown. He had speed of his own and was very awkward. His punches came from all angles. Nonstop. I think Hector is gonna score too but he will be on his heels all night.
While Camacho wasnt a power puncher speed can be power and Camacho had alot of that. Also Camacho could be very mobile and trying to attack a moving target who is faster then you is easier said then done. Jose Luis Ramirez had a rock of a chin. Arguello and Chavez couldnt put him down. Camacho dropped him and not because he hits on the same level- speed. What you dont see can hurt you just as easily as a hard punch. i think Pryor jump all over Camacho and then walks into a counter he doesnt see coming. And then Camacho jumps all over him.
