That fight with Fonfara, if anyone missed it, 100% worth a watch but put some serious miles on the clock.
I never rated him highly. He was proper feather fisted and didn't have a great defence. Bad combination. He had delusional confidence which was irritating. I thought he had potential when he was young but when it became obvious he wasn't going to kick on while continuing to talk a big game I started disliking him. Second Bellew fight was a stinker and one of the worst PPV's I can recall.
Also talking of Kovalev, that has to be up there with one of the most one sided beatings on British soil. I liked Cleverlys rise through domestic level onto the world scene. Most of us could only dream of his achievements. I'm sure he had a mathematics degree. I don't think he was trained properly and there were delusional comments stated from him as well. I hope he is doing ok and can settle in life after boxing.
Fighting Bellew at Cruiser was a big mistake, the Fonfara fight pretty much finished him, even though he became a World Champion again after that. It's not good looking at his Instagram posts, he really isn't doing well, looks like his girl is staying loyal to him though, hopefully that will help him. The lad is probably on all sorts these days, wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
Decent fighter who became World Champ but nowhere near elite in the same club as Ricky Burns, Tony Bellew and Ant Crolla types.

Agreed. That stupid karate headband he wore, and that stupid thing he did with his tongue when fighting really irked me. Looked like an extra from "Grease", too.
