Kovalev would be brutally stopped, Canelos counter punching and targeted work to the body will end his career. Do not fight the Ginger midget

I think it's gonna happen, and I also see it ending badly for Kovalev (apart from the huge payday he'll get) Kovalev is there for the taking and Canelo and Goldenboy know it. Canelo to win by brutal body attack.

Canelo will stop Kovalev especially with the rehydration impediments he will probably impose (when he probably doesn't have to in reality)

But, hope it does happen as I want Kov to get the huge payday that he should have got Vs Ward

If the fight is at Light Heavyweight Canelo will do nothing.

He wont be able to hurt Kovalev, his stamina will suffer for the extra weight he will be carrying and he will get his head jabbed off all night.

He isn't even a big middle weight.

I know your joking but seriously, how much bigger can he get ? He seems maxed out already.

They are clearly banking on his great strength, body punching, exploiting a perceived weakness of Kovalev. Cant see him getting past that jab or even having enough to hurt a man conditioned to take genuine light heavyweight punishment throughout his career if he does.

He won't be carrying much or any extra weight in the ring. He just won't have to cut as much weight as usual for the weigh in. This will be a better Canelo IMO. The question will be how effective he can be against somebody bigger than the fighters he's fought previously, who in turn is used to fighting people bigger than Canelo.

At 36 Kovalev needs a cash out , it will give Canelo a opportunity to win a title at light heavyweight and let’s be honest out of the present crop of Lt Heavies who goes Ginger stand best chance of beating ?

Hurting Kovalev and stopping him are different things. He could'nt stop Golovkin or Jacobs at middleweight.

If its just a case of him making weight more comfortably then his power wont have increased to fight two weight divisions higher at light heavyweight. He wont move better than Kovalev or outwork that jab.

I think they are biting off more than they can chew, even against a faded Kovalev. Weight classes matter.

Lots of questions over how this could play out. There are no certainties. It's what makes it such an interesting fight. I really like the fight.

People are also glossing over the fact that Canelo will be up to 175. He would probably weigh in a few pounds under the limit but all this weight takes its toll. He'll find himself fatiguing badly if the fight goes long and Kovalev is a seasoned 12 round fighter.

Kovalev is also a ****ing banger. He hits seriously hard. He will be the hardest puncher Canelo has ever faced. He has a reach advantage and it's not going to be so easy for Canelo to come inside and rip into Kovalev's body without being badly hurt himself. It's not Playstation Fight Night, some people on here are making it sound like it's so easy to land on Kovalev's body at 5'7" with a 70 inch reach...

It's a very dangerous fight for Canelo and I'd lean towards Kovalev provided there is no catchweight or rehydration nonsense.

Probably 5’7.5” at a push. He was marginally taller than Floyd so unless he’s had an unusually late growth spurt I do believe he really is that short.

I knew he was "short" but I would have guessed 5'9" or 5"10 even. I know you see stats before fights and could look at boxrec etc. but I take all them with a pinch of salt. Quite often different platforms contradict each other so some of them are obviously wrong.
