Did Frank Warren let down Yarde?

Made a massive payday and a name for himself by taking one of the safest routes ever to a mandatory titleshot... Bad for real boxfans, really good for the boxer in question.

 

Whether there is any lasting damage remains to be seen, he was systematically beaten up and had no answer to that jab.

 

Frank was right tho, kov was there to be taken. He was ready to go. That is not the same kov. Age, drinking and wealth looks like it's got it's claws into kov.

 

Frank let Yarde down by not being in the ring with him, holding Kovalevs arms behind his back, so that Yarde could land as many free shots as he wanted.

He lost to a better opponent. He'll go back to the drawing board and come again.
It isn't Franks fault he lost.

How on earth anyone can say Yarde taking that fight was a bad move is beyond me.

He's now financially secure for quite some time.

Yarde did good all things considered, he got paid, and frank gave him the chance, it was down to Yarde to get the win, but he got Kovalevs respect either way. If Kovalev thinks Yarde will be a world champ, then that is saying something, because he shared the ring with him.

Yarde will be back stronger no doubt, however there needs to be a shake up in his training methodologies before he ends up like Parker's team/situation... not evolving.

Yes - could have done with more testing fights.
No - got him to mandatory and well paid. Now well known around the world even though he lost

Yarde did better than many expected, he didn't look out of place and there was a moment where the upset looked very much on.

I'm also really not sure about his supposed decent performance. He was very well beaten, exhausted, and lost nearly every single round.

 

Time will tell.

We don't know how Yarde will be affected by the loss mentally or physically until he starts fighting again and for those saying he made millions so it was worth it well yeah that's true but AY could have made similar money over several fights against domestic and euro level opponents and not taken the amount of punishment he did on Saturday.
