This content is protected Yarde’s coach after the 7th round: “You can finish him in the 8th” McGirt also told Kovalev after the 6th round to stay relaxed, but Kovalev still doesn’t give a **** about his corner Nice
I think Buddy had a fighter die fairly recently, a friend of Kovalev's. So his warning isn't surprising.
Shut the **** up you **** stirring clown. Kovalev did stay calm, too calm, and Yarde took advantage of it, then Buddy told him to get his **** together and pump out the jab, and he did, which led to him winning the match by KO you moron. Also. what exactly is the point of this thread? Everyone who watched the fight live and afterward knew about that. Is this some secret you think you're exposing?
As I was watching the 8th round I thought Mcgirt was considering throwing in the towel for some reason. It was a seriously hectic round
Kovalev lost. He couldn't beat Yarde. Yarde beat himself, he fell under the weight of his own legs and fatigue. He was tired from that whopping he gave Kovalev. Yarde dominated the fight early and Rd 8 could've easily been a TKO. And Kovalev cheated to win, the ref kept giving him a break, cutting the tape from his gloves, and when Yarde fell in the 11th there was no standing 8 count. Kovalev must feel embarrassed but also really lucky,he almost got KOd in his hometown in front of all his fans by an inexperienced kid who only recently learned how to box
Kovalev won every round of the match except for the eighth. He got hurt like thousands of boxers have before, held and survived to the end of round, hell he showed such grit against a young KO artist, he didn't even go down. It's not a case of why didn't Anthony go to the body earlier, he didn't because he couldn't, Kovalev's jab was just so powerful a deterrent it was deemed far too much of a risk for him to walk through. Sure he's an inexperienced kid, but sometimes inexperienced kids have really hard heads and can take a punch, and are very heavy-handed. For some fighters who aren't known as big punchers, schooling an inexperienced kid for 12 rounds it's far more than enough. So it's no big deal in my opinion. I've seen several inexperienced kids KO old guys who are deemed past it. Kovalev evidently wasn't quite as past it as everybody thought.
No way, he was catching shots but you cant stop a fight for that reason after winning every round, that would've been terrible corner work
Mcgirt said that to get Kov into action. He wasn't stopping it but it was a great thing to tell his fighter.
in the 7th Tunde was cheering for the opposite corner... BUDDY! BUDDY! BUDDY! McGirth made him a fan.
