Well he was never going to win on points at that stage, so that was obviously his only chance of victory. As we all saw, it very nearly paid off. At least he went out on his shield and didn't get shut out over 12.

I know Tunde is new to this level, but that was a shambles.

He was just yelling similar stuff you hear the crowd scream at an amateur boxing match. Such a difference between the 2 corners.

I agree 100% with @Hattonmad. Tunde is a dickwad but he kept his fighter motivated and believing in himself against an elite fighter. If he’d of just put his arms around his fighter after the 10th and signalled to the ref enough was enough it would of been perfect showing by a team and fighter who were out of their depth.

He probably thought yarde was fit enough to do it for more than a round, kovalev was looking tired after the 7th round so it was the right call imo. What was he supposed to do just let his fighter keep losing on points.

The more I see of Tunde the more I think he would be better suited to personal training or Amateur boxing.

This all reminds me of the set-up Nigel Benn had when he first turned pro, up to and including the Watson fight. Benn turned pro under the guidance of his Amateur trainer Brian Lynch.

Similar to Tunde , Lynch never allowed Benn to spar much for his fights. According to Colin Hart, Benn sparred a total of 12 rounds for the Watson fight.

A quote from Benn's Autobiography. " Then, in the fifth, I heard my trainer call out, ‘Go on, Nige! Steam him!’ Steam him? "

In sixth round Watson knocked an exhausted Benn out with a JAB.

Sorry lads, I like Yarde but Tunde is nothing but a clueless cheerleader.

It was terrible advice. It’s a 12 round fight and your fighter is a puncher and you’re in with a 36 year old past his best opponent whom many had questioned his stamina. You don’t tell your fighter to shoot your load half way through the fight, you tell him to hang in there, chip away, invest in body shots, break him down. You might lose round after round but you still have a shot until the final bell.

Utterly clueless, out of his depth, bulls*****r.

Well it nearly worked. What was Yarde meant to do? Coast to a decision loss? I know Tunde isn't exactly mr popular, but something had to be done and it nearly came off so no complaints from me.

New member so apologies if posts are rubbish
On this subject, think this fight was lost way before the shoot you load advice! How can anyone prepare for a world title fight without sparring properly and tons of rounds?
