Regarding not studying the opponent: When special forces are planning, they study everything to the finest detail. If they have to breach an aeroplane on the runway being held by terrorists, they study the type of door and locks of that model. They go over it, over and over. It turns this way, or that way. They know the cabin layout, seating and hiding places. They have practised that scenario outside and in before the actual job. "Not studying the opponent" makes me want to cup my ears to drown it out.
I'd like to see Yarde and Tunde be successful together, I have no dislike towards them anymore. They can be annoying but I see it as a quirk now more than anything else, Yarde isn't a shirker and Tunde is just trying to motivate and get his man into the best possible frame of mind, if shouting Lions helps, even 0.1% then f**k it. I regularly shout "Lions" at my cat now when I'm making breakfast and when I'm filling his bowl up, it gets me fired up for work and he seems to dig it, I haven't tried it in the bedroom yet though........
Frank and Tunde go back years and it was Tunde who told him to sign him up in the first place. I doubt Warren wants Yarde to leave him..probably just wants some background issues addressed.
No promoter would want to lose Yarde. He's got some issues but he's gifted and he must be a joy to have in the stable.
He didn’t hold back there! The more I think about it he should have held back a bit in the 8th and really stuck it on kov a round or two later.
I said prior to the fight on the other thread that I felt that this would be the last time Yarde and Tunde work together. Tunde didn’t do anything special with Yarde in terms of getting him a mandatory shot. It’s not difficult to do...knock nearly 20 puddings out and you’ll get a high ranking with the WBO. We see it so many times with these unknown fighters...see Tom Schwarz as an example. Tunde was massively exposed in that corner. Yarde was out there on his own thinking on his own feet, improvising, showing heart because nobody was giving him tactics apart from “lions” and “empty the tank” halfway through the fight. When I hear “empty the tank” halfway through a fight I just think ‘he’s bottled it and he’s out of ideas’. Tunde has had his meal ticket now. He’s done well to earn a bit of wedge out of it but he needs to hand the reigns over to a serious trainer who genuinely knows what he’s doing if he genuinely cares about Yarde.
Warren needs to appreciate that he needs Yarde a lot more than Yarde needs him. Realistically it’s only a matter of time before Yarde follows Saunders to Matchroom as Warren’s stable continues to crumble.
What's Tunde gonna do? Advise him that there are lions in the camp? Tunde is a useless egomaniac who likes to pretend like he's the one risking his health in there
I do like to see new ideas forming and being proven, so I kept a little bit open minded on the system. I can understand the increased rate of the padwork reaping benefits; 20-25 mins as opposed to 3-5 mins, but as for the other things? Took 9 years to do what exactly? The app has 16 subscribers, is iOS only and has 2 reviews.
Baffled at some saying that Tunde has done a good job. Can you imagine how well a proper trainer would have built him up over the last 18 fights? He’d have been in the 168 division imo, a weaker division that he could have developed in.
Tunde better hope the next fight isn't in Vegas. "A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes." (Casino)
Yarde needs to do some reflection by himself and judge his own performance independently. After all it’s his career and it is him putting it all on the line. Not Tunde. Tunde is a PR disaster. Part of Yarde’s issues with popularity at this time are down to his ******ed and arrogant comments.
