Due this week, be interesting to see what Andy Ruiz shows up to them as he has been a bit disrespectful with his comments about AJ since the fight.

Hopefully AJ is rattled and shows a bit of nastiness in his comments.

Ruiz will be quiet as a mouse in these upcoming press conferences. You won't hear a peep out of him because despite all the talk from him post fight, he knows deep down, he's won the lottery with these two big paydays and he'll do well to remember that.

The US press conference could be lively but as a fan not too interested in multiple press conferences. No need in the day of the internet.

Press question : Anthony what do you think went wrong in the first fight?

AJ: Well when you actually think about the actual fact of the bigger picture im all about mindset, see these guys dont know im actually all about the actual mindset of a bigger picture. The big picture is bouncing back, now if i actually bounce back then im here, with a mindset. You see its like when you have the belts you win but if you lose its like you dont. (Insert generic slogan for fans to repeat)

Would be great if Ruiz ended his career.

However I reckon he will be atrocious in the 2nd fight

Charles Martin won the lottery with how he was gifted a belt, in-turn, Joshua won the lottery with how he then got a shot at an easy title.

My point is, Ruiz is treated as some kind of intrusion on the scene but he is worthy of them belts as much as Joshua was when he won them. He beat the opponent with the belts in front of him just like Joshua did....the disrespect towards Ruiz from a section of boxing fans is staggering.

I'm hoping for Shades of Iron Mike roadman style Joshua to just lose the plot. I want him to call Adam Smith a **** and get physical with Ruiz. If I don't see Andy "leave the boxer alone, David!" Brown get involved then I'm not interested.

Wil be interesting to see if he has that same hunger. I think people underestimate the mental side of things once you hit that life changing money especially in a sport as brutal as boxing.

Isn’t that post a bit of a contradiction? You’re saying Ruiz didn’t win the lottery but Joshua did?

Ruiz DID win the lottery - NOT because of his ability because he is talented but he had no right to be in that ring. He weren’t highly ranked, he weren’t mandatory, he was a late replacement who got lucky and got a shot at the belts there’s no debating that. Ruiz is a worthy champ, he’s much better than the likes of Martin but it’s a completely fluke he got the opportunity. Whereas AJ was already number in the division when he got his. So there’s no comparison.

No, i’m saying Ruiz beat the opponent with the belts in front of him, as did Joshua with Martin, yet Ruiz’s win is treated as some kind of intrusion who’s keeping belts warm, yet the narrative towards Joshua’s win was that It was the start of something big, the start of a long journey at the top.

Joshua was lucky at the time that there was an easy belt on line. The way Martin got a shot at that belt and won it, it was an absolute gift. In turn, Joshua couldn’t have had it any easier winning a world title by sparking Martin, he was a joke. The way it all panned out was a gift just like Ruiz’s opportunity out of nowhere was a gift. Yet the attitude towards Ruiz is different.

Though in America and around the world I wonder what the reaction to Joshua was? He’d already been built as some unbeatable wrecking machine in the UK at that stage. It’s natural people in the UK have that reaction towards Ruiz as most had no idea who he was...I suspect Mexico and the US fans may feel differently about him.

That said I assume your point is aimed more at people on this forum, who you’d expect to know a bit more...

Nobody debates that it weren’t a gift. Martin is widely renowned for being the worst heavyweight champion of all time.

Joshua earned his gift, Ruiz never. Ruiz just got lucky that Miller cheated then numerous other replacements turned it down so then he was next in line.

Maybe he deserved a bit of luck after a harsh result against Parker...

    Why would you want that?

AJ has been great for boxing in the UK

Joshua should play the heel role and turn up in a mr blobby costume and taunt Andy Ruiz. Lol just imagine if Noel Edmonds turns up as the special guest referee.
