Anyone here think Jeff Horn deserved the decision against Pacquiao?

I haven't actually scored the fight round by round, but I do remember watching the fight live with Spanish commentary and actually thinking that Jeff Horn was doing well. The decision didn't surprise me at all really. Ive heard some of the English commentary and I cant help but think that many people were influenced by Teddy Atlas's cheerleading for Pacquiao.

 

A lot though Pacquiao won . Way before Teddy Atlas open his mouth

 

Not only did he not deserve the decision he should have been disqualified.

 

Pretty much comes down to which side of the cultural divide in Australia as to which fighter won or lost

 

2 kinds of people you will find who gave horn the decision are biased aussie rugby league fans who dont understand the rules and scoring criteria of boxing or pacman haters.

You’d have to show me the 7 rounds he won.

It’s one of those decisions where people accept it readily now because they can just defer to judges.

I tried to score it for Horn, counting punch for punch in a round and can’t give horn more than 5 rounds.

No. He also should have been DQ'd. Karma is a ***** though despite robbing Pac his career is now in the dumps after getting his ass kicked by Crawford and being forced to move up in weight to chase easier domestic paydays. He couldn't even make the grade there. Meanwhile Pac is having a career resurgence in his 40s with more big fights in the horizon. Bye bye Horn.... Don't let the door hit you in the way out.

 

I don't say this to be rude, but I feel the fans who thought Horn won are not dedicated boxing fans. Horn fought a rough-house fight and was all over Pac. But he did not land the damaging shots. Pacman clearly landed the better punches.

The reason this fight is controversial is because not only should Pac have won the decision, but Horn should have points deducted or even disqualified. I thought the ref did a bad job.

 

This. All of the blatant head butting and elbows that Horn kept fouling PAC with should’ve got him disqualified. Horn most likely would’ve even beaten Crawford in Australia with that local ref.

 

I’m not a fan of Horn’s style and was very angry when his hand was raised at the end of this one. Just saying, I’m pretty biased against dirty fighters and was rooting against Horn by the end of the fight. I still couldn’t find 7 rounds to give to Horn. Manny didn’t fight his best fight but he did more than enough to win this one. I watched the fight several times and finally turned off the volume the last couple times. Manny won the fight but it was not the worst hometown decision I have ever seen. That doesn’t make it a good one.

 

It was close and I'm not too upset about the decision. That said I did score it to pac.

 

Scored it 8-4 for PAC. Horn did better than expected. PAC didn't bring his A game, but he still landed twice as many clean punches. You have to be a PAC hater, or be a bad scorer who likes wrestling, fouling, or youth to an excessive degree to score the fight for Horn. People see what they want to see. I was adamant that Horn sucked, but we were covered in an avalanche of Horn fan threads before Crawford humiliated him and put that to bed. Even a certain mod on here made a thread basically saying "Sure Horn looks crude, but he's actually doing lots of subtle clever stuff nobody notices."

 

Pac deserved at least 7 rounds for this fight. Even a draw would have been seen as a home decision for Horn.
