I like ward just as much as I like kovalev Both great boxers I just cant stand ward always never stfus about certain things and makes it about himself to much
like the name! ole "scrap" was one hell of a journeyman! when he fought ali, the odds against him even lasting the distance were very high. he trained his ass off and bet almost EVERYTHING he had on himself. while he lost, next day, he was driving a new cadillac!
Ward might be right. Kov is faded and his power is way down. He also doesn’t have the best gas tank these days. Looked pretty good in his last fight but Canelo is pretty smart. If he wears down Kov with body shots and fight smart, I could see Canelo getting a KO against Kov. I don’t think it will happen unless Kov is weight drained due to a hydration clause Canelo will probably have in place. Without the hydration clause, Kov finishes this one on his feet and gets jobbed by Ginger’s hand picked refs. That’s how I see this one ending.
we are taking the word of a man who knows he got a HUGE gift in his first fight against kovalev and in the second fight won because he crushed kovalev's balls. maybe, just maybe, ward is only saying this because he dislikes kovalev? kovalev is still fighting and winning at his age while ward quickly retired after their second fight? maybe ward has a grudge and an axe to grind against kovalev?
Point me to one Canelo fight, at JMW, MW, or SMW that suggests that he even remotely has the power or ability to stop anyone in the LHW top 10 let alone one of the top 3-4 guys. He teed off on a fat, lazy half drunk and retired Chavez jr. and didn't dent him, yet a marginal LHW destroyed Jr. (before he did). He couldn't stop a on his last legs, post prime Cotto (a much smaller man) that had been stopped at lower weights by supposedly lesser punchers than him. I could go on and on but why bother. There's levels to achieving phenomenal feats when going up in weight (especially stopping bigger guys) and Canelo ain't that level.
Kovalev is pastvhis best if the fight happens clenelo will stop him. You can quote me when it happens.
It’s a fight that’s got me intrigued, I’m a fan of both and whilst I’m leaning towards Canelo (mainly due to Kovalevs level of slippage) it wouldn’t surprise me to see a dominant SK victory.......GET THE FIGHT MADE!
