By "bulked up" you actually mean fat.

Got news for you...he ain't seeing 140lbs either.

Make a fight with Danny Garcia or Pac perhaps.

 

He's got massive biceps. His face isn't bloated. I think he's just added a lot of muscle.

Also, I think he's jumping ship to DAZN — hence no announcement of Danny Garcia fight.

 

Garcia doesn't want it. If it ever happens it will be after he has milked another payday or two at Welterweight and added 1-2 more losses to his resume. It's the most profitable WINNABLE fight for him and the most important for his legacy but he's dead set on cashing out at Welterweight.

People kept saying the same thing before the Spence fight, yet when he stepped in the ring, his midsection looked very soft, and he hardly had any muscle definition at all. He looked like he put on maybe 3 or 4 lbs of muscle at the most (which really isn’t bad, as most people vastly overestimate the amount of muscle someone can add within a year or so, at least without the help of large quantities of HGH, anabolics, insulin, etc), with the rest of the weight being fat and water. Also, I’ve never understood why so many people here act like bulking up is permanent, and fighters can never safely go back down to a lower weight class. I competed in bodybuilding competitions for many years, and from looking at Mikey’s physique, I’d say he was holding about 18% body fat during the Spence fight. This would mean his lean body mass is about 121 pounds. So if he got down to 7-8% body fat, which is probably in the range of what Spence was for their fight, that would mean Mikey could still make 130. Making 135 again should not be a problem...he’d be at about 10-11% body fat. As long as he gives himself enough time to lose the weight and acclimate to it, he should feel fine. Plenty of guys fight at 10% body fat and even a little lower.

 

I agree that there isn’t much point going back down to 140 or 135 for Mikey, since besides Loma there isn’t any competition for Mikey or any good money fights. 147 on the otherhand has the competition and he can make good money fighting Danny Garcia or Khan, who are both winnable fights for him.

 

Garcia is going to cash out now, the drive is gone.

Maybe his body is actually growing into his head

 

He can't make 135 no more. Even if he goes on the Atkins diet.

 

Then why doesn't Loma step up and go up in weight to challenge himself just like Garcia did?? Theres no competition at the weight Loma is in.

I wish he'd fight Pacquiao — literally the smallest guy at 147 and 140 and smaller than some 135 pounders (Linares, Campbell, Bogere, Fortuna).

 

C'mon pimp he has no business at welterweight unless it's purely for the spondoolies! He should be camping at 140 because he ain't winning a belt at welter.
