I'm listening to the podcast he did on Joe Rogan's show and it's quite interesting. He confirms that before he decided to retire he was mulling over an offer that included fighting Tony Bellew, one or two Heavyweight fights and then Anthony Joshua. Decent listen, I recommend it: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/andre-ward-on-the-joe-rogan-show.635866/#post-20045003 I would have liked the Bellew fight, think it would have been a decent scrap. AJ is another story lol. Would have been interesting at least.
Bellew would have got a boxthing lesson from Ward before facing the roof late in the fight - complete different level of ability and Spud Bellew would be bombing fresh air all night.
Great podcast. Came across well. Another recent great watch | listen is Michael Buffer on Iron Mike's Hot Boxin'
Bellew wouldnt care, he would probably be smiling getting KO'd because he would still get his share of PPV loot
I mean yeah, would’ve destroyed him...maybe was more “maybe had they fought” but that’s my poor wording.
Great listen, love Ward. Glad he didn’t fight Bellew just so we didn’t have to listen to Bellew go on about going home safe to his kids one more time
Strange love in for ward on here does nobody remember he was a dirty beshturd in the ring? He was brutal to watch and very fortunate to retire undefeated.glad he's retired tbh.
