All of you READ THIS! My Initial Thoughts On When The Chelyabinsk Krusher Meets The Cinnamon Boy Of Guadalajara.
Maybe this will be a modern Version of Norris v Taylor? .ginger nut isn't slick or a runner will the difference in size and power be crucial there speed is similar ?
I dont see kovalev dominating **** from round 7 on. Oh, yes, yarde, and with problems. Well, you know, I meant any decent fighter. Kovalev has 6 rounds to ko canelo. If he does not, there is hell waiting for him. And yes, canelo's stamina is not the best ever, but vodkalev's stamina is just laughable. Btw, if ward's body work made kovalev quit, he's going to have to borrow another guy's liver in order to drink vodka after canelo is done hooking his body. Yes, not in the first round, not in the second... but in the 6th one? he will throw up right there in the middle of the ring, if he doesnt quit before, ofc.
And this sums up why Canelo is going for the Kovalev fight at all costs. Kova is old, he's slowed and he may well be on the sauce. Add to that some weight games and he'll be shrivelled like a prune ripe for the picking when fight night comes.
if you think that ward can make a better body work than canelo, or that canelo cant fight in close distance specially after kovalev runs out of gas in round 6 or 7... well, we dont agree.
Well, I think that we all agree that this fight would be very different with kovalev in his peak and before ward drew the blue print, isnt it? We can argue about if kovalev is more or less out of his peak, but I think that no one here thinks he's in his peak. Anyway, I consider it a good fight, I will watch it, and I think it will be competitive and entertaining. EDIT: my personal opinion is that he is way way out of his peak.
Norris was in his absolute prime when he beat Taylor while Taylor was coming off having been physically castigated and been stopped by Julio Cesar Chavez. The smaller fighter in Taylor was on the one on the decline who was moving up, a recipe for disaster. The naturally bigger fighter usually is at a sizeable advantage unless the bigger fighter is the one on the decline facing a smaller fighter who's in his prime. This is what makes Canelo-Kovalev a great matchup, though Kovalev is on the decline, he still has some in the tank where if he plays his cards right and chooses a nice fight plan for himself, he certainly has a chance to come out victorious even against a Canelo at the top of his game.
No hydration/ catch weight and no win for Canelo! Struggled hard with 5'11 Jacobs, Kovalev is bigger and better.
We saw a completely different fight. Not once did I see Canelo in trouble in those 12 rounds. I consistently saw Canelo land the better punches. And the one time Jacob's landed a huge punch Canelo brushed it off. Good luck with boxing bro.
Why do you think so? Almost everywhere his height is indicated as a little bit less than 6'. And Kovalev is 6′ 0″. And Sergey is not the tallest LHW: https://i.ibb.co/h7hx6Qf/Kovalev-Canelo.jpg
