I have my doubts also, bob gonna have to pay Loma some coin to get him down here after the pac horn debarcle.
Last yr there was discussion of matching then IBF LW no 2 Kye Mackenzie with Loma by No Limits to christen new Bank West Stadium. Going on what Loma got paid in Manchester 3 M ( US $ ) and Ferocious would get 10 % of that could be raised by either NSW or VIC Gov and the rest paid by PPV its definitely feasible. Usyk is Loma best buddy and would make the trip too. So plenty of promotional opportunity's all round.
Hometown advantage is a concern here, as I'm not certain a Kambosos vs. Lomachenko match would be all that likely to end inside schedule.
Australian boxing fans are the most knowledgeable in the world. Of course Loma will want to fight in front of them. While he's here, I expect he will also want to make a pilgrimage to the boxing Mecca of Bendigo to pay his respects. Perhaps even take in fabled Bendigo stadium where great warriors like Jeff Horn & Tim Tszyu have plied their trade.
I'd go a step further and say Australia has some of the most knowledgeable and passionate all round fight fans, probably alongside the british fans. Getting another big star like Lomachenko down here in another big stadium show, will just further cement our status and help get consistent big fights as we certainly have shown we have an appetite to watch these high level fights.
Ferocious says talks have began of a potential fight at Etihad Stadium ( Marvel Stadium ) Melb. Talk starts at 4. 56 min. This content is protected
Interesting to look back on this... September of 2019 is when The Sniper lost to Chon Zepeda. Had it been GKJ as originally planned, would George have been ready yet? Would this have derailed his progress or could it have been him in Chon's place upsetting the Puerto Rican, to announce his arrival on the world scene as opposed to Chon merely cementing his status as reliable party-spoiler? Bear in mind this was before Kambosos had even stepped up to Mickey Bey Jr. or Lee Selby; he would have been coming directly off beating Peña with his biggest victories to date still being Qamil Balla or Rey Pérez ...so he would likely have been considerably more of an underdog than Zepeda was (+135 at some books, closer at most).
