What Fights Would You Have Stopped- That Continued?
What Fights Would You Have Continued- That Got Stopped?

I Would Have Stopped Ray Mercer VS. Morrison at least by the 3rd hit along the ropes. Referee allowed about a 1/2 dozen full force-uncontested shots. Ray was right post interview-Morrison could've gotten hurt bad.

I loathe to say this, but round 9 Gatti-Ward would've been stopped after Ward landed about 30 unanswered punches with Lamply screamming "STOP IT FRANK, YOU CAN STOP IT AT ANYTIME...FRANK CAPPACINO'S GONNA LET 'EM KEEP GOING!"
I couldn't see that Gatti could've came back, to which he did in round 10. For me, I would've deprived the world of seeing round 10. About 2:40 or seconds, with Gatti bent over, along the ropes I would've grabbed him and waived Micky off.:(

I would've allowed AJ to fight on against Ruiz. He got up stable, wasn't on shaky legs. Walked back to corner, clearly he had his motor skills as he turned around to look at his corner (most are told when down, look at the corner- chief 2nd will determine when to get up)...well he got up first.. placed his arms on ropes, then nodded his head. Don't know what he was supposed to do to signal he wanted to continue, do a back flip?

See Moorer vs Cooper 2nd kd. Moorer was down, hanging on bottom rope lookin at his corner, never even looked at ref...and that was continued.

I would have let Kovalev continue after taking his rightful amount of time to recover from that last BLATANT sack smash from ward in their 2nd fight. And andre would have been deducted two points considering it was the 8th or 9th time he went low.

I definitely would have stopped Donaire vs Montiel after that sledgehammer left hook, from which Montiel clearly wasn't recovered (how could he?), preventing him from being tagged a couple of times after. That was ridiculous and I guess 99% of referees would have stopped that fight after miraculously getting up from that detonation.
Honerable mention; Frenkel vs Enzo Mac. No way Enzo could ****inue after being dropped that hard, he could barely stand let alone fight. It would have prevented one of the most brutal highlight reel KO's in history though.

Where I would have been in the wrong though is with Hernandez (remember him?) vs Cunningham I. I would have stopped it in the 1st, while Steve came back in the fight and Hernandez basically getting saved by a cut due to a headclash, triggering the immidiate rematch.

LOL! I listened to a lecture that Joe Cortez gave. During a break he got hit on his thigh by Mike Tyson. He didn't feel it that much, then the next day, said he couldn't walk for almost a week and had a black bruise that was 3x the size of Tyson's fist.

Always found it amusing when they chose little Mills Lane to ref a HW fight. But I will say this Benjee Estaves did a gr8 job whenever he had to ref the big boys.

I just re-watched Toney vs Barkley and forgot how many low blows Barkley landed. Sometimes hitting JT on the hips, ref didn't do squat.

I actually like Ward, buit if given the chance, I would've deducted 2x, then gave a final warning for a pending DQ!

I would have given Kovalev a count, let him recover and continue.
    I wouldn't have waved off Maccarinelli-McKenzie 1.
I would have given Molina Jr. a count against DeMarco.
Given Quillin a count against Jacobs.

Not only that I’d be all over Ward for his grappling,if you can’t win by using your fists, then you have no business in there.

Good call. I'd let that go a little further as well.

And had I reffed Travis Walker vs TJ Wilson, I'd give him a standing 8 before calling it in the 1st minute of the 1st round.

The referee Tony should be banned for life. He was so stupid to stop the fight. He could have done it better. The last time I saw him doing such stupid thing was the fighter (I can't remember his name) had stood up already before he made a count to 8 so he was ready to continue but Tony waved his hands to stop the fight. How stupid he was!

History can't be changed. But the few fights that stand out in my mind that I would've stopped sooner are Morrison Mercer, Alex Garcia Bernard Benton, Saad Muhammad Qawi, and. and Beau Jack Ike Williams. There are more and I'm forgetting some but these stood out.

I also would have stopped Vitaly vs Briggs in round 9. Ian John Lewis was as disgraceful as you came to expect from him in that fight. There was no way Briggs was going to come back and it was essentially waiting how many rounds he eventually would go, and how much permanent damage there would be done after.

And it's clear there has been permantent damage after that fight, because the only words he seems to be able to speak today are "go" "champ" and "let's" :ohno

Every Wlad fight post 2006 for continuous illegal clinching, his central tactic.

I´d have disqualified Mares after third low blow vs. Agbeko.
Also a DQ against Mayweather for the interference of his corner after the accidental low blow in the Judah fight.
