Is there a course you can take to become a ref?
Any idea how long it takes?
I bet there is a lot more to it than you think

I’d also be interested in how to become a cut man

Sometimes I think you just need to be in with the right people perhaps but I definitely think I could do a much better job at stopping cuts from bleeding than some of these guys in the pros

I'll bet secretly even the ref probably knows he acted too soon with Quillin, was only round one and it probably looked worse than it was as Jacob's just basically swarmed him, hitting arms, shoulders in a blur.
I know in cricket all the best umpires have a rapore with the lads and the best ones will give themselves an extra second.
Course they could bring in technology but problem there is it gets used as a tatic and would slow it down.
I do think there should be the equivalent of a 2nd umpire or ref,if only to view a screen and make decision on pulling folk out to prevent head trauma or worse.
Horrible job,who would want it lol.

Was that var for the Edwards low blow on the ground the first time it’s been used in boxing?

You are bang on the money mate!
It didn’t help that vitali had about 7 different cuts around that one eye but boy were they making a mess of it! That blokes hands were wobbling all over the place and then he put Vaseline on and then wipe it away opening the cuts back up for the start of the next round! What a wally!

    Agreed.

Toney v. Nunn, I would've stopped right when Nunn got up at 9. He was finished and took a few shots after continuing, that there was no need to.

Hearns vs. Barkley 1, I would've stopped it (too early) because of Barkley's cuts.
Hearns vs. Barkley 2, I would've stopped it because Hearns' face was beaten completely flat.

I would not have stopped Calzaghe vs. Manfredo

Jesus, there's tons of fights, I could go on forever TBH

Reason I loved Canelo v Golovkin was that you hardly noticed there was a ref in there.

I would have disqualified Floyd for the SUCKER PUNCH against Ortiz
I would have disqualified Horn for the continuous fouls against Pacman
