Too many to list. But some that come to mind. Smoger was way too late in the Kirkland-Tapia fight. Tapia was out on his feet and Smoger did not get in there quick enough. Terrible. It's like what the hell were you doing, Smoger. Distracted by the card girl in the front row? I would have let the Taylor-JC Chavez 1 fight go the distance. Steele should have known there was no time left in the fight. Taylor would have been the rightful world champion. The loss destroyed him. I fully agree with an earlier post on the Mercer-Morrison fight. Again, the ref was way too late getting in there. Morrison was out cold and took some awful, unnecessary punishment. Should have never happened.
There was the first one towards the 2nd or third round, which was a small tap and Kov overreacted. There was a legit one that was around the 5th(don't quote me on the exact rounds). There were several on the side and on the letters, which was said to be fair play during the pre fight instructions. In the last round, the first body blow that hurt Kov was a good shot. When Ward was in finish mode, he bent Kov over with good body shots. The last shot that ended it was difficult to guage, due to Kov being bent over. But think about this, Ward was on the side of Kov while Kov was bent over almost at a 90 degree angle. I find it hard to believe Ward could land a nut shot from that angle. Not saying he didn't hit Kov low, just difficult to tell. However, I have always said the ref should have given a count to Kov, not because of the low blow, but because the ropes were holding him up.
Nah. Mills would have stopped it when Kov turned his back in the heat of battle from that body shot in the 8th.
Watch the pre fight instructions. The letters were right at Kov's navel. The letters were on the belt line.
He was being held up by the ropes, and I'm pretty sure sat on one of them. More than enough reason to call knockdown. Either that or just penalize Ward a point, and let Sergey recover.
Watson allowed to come out against Eubank was insane, though the damage already was done. Terrible refereeing. Joe Cortez giving Herol Graham a full 10 count after getting KTFO by Jackson is another, though it didn't matter. Cota vs Charlo is a more recent one. That last blow could have killed him. Same with Hamed/Liendo, and only a week after Benn/McClellan!! As for early stoppages, I would say Manfredo/Calzaghe and McNeely/Tyson. Probably Ruddock/Tyson I for that matter. Too many to name both ways.
Agbeko was riding high on that Darchinian win and a comeback with Perez. Man those blows hurt me! And I'll say it a million times. From the referee to the commission--jobs should have been lost. Floyd should have a loss on his record. If I were reffing? Double DQ! For Zab punking out & Uncle Roger going thug. But...does that give FLoyd a loss if both are disqualified?
