LOL!, at best he fought 1-3 bouts at the weight of BW if that, and I find nothing stating he fought for a Thai BW title and if so who cares, that would mean nothing as far at the all time top 10, and who cares if he were 100-0 at another weight, we are not talking about another weight we are discussing BW and Galaxy does not belong in any BW discussion unless it's a Fantasy discussion, if you think otherwise, then I must say you don't know boxing that well, may as well rank all the guys that fought before the junior weights came around should be rated in those top 10s all time, and put Dempsey and others at Cruiserweight, the list could continue and would be a useless endeavor.
I've been researching the last week or so for my list to post here soon, i've watched every fight i can and read all I can find, and Zarate is not looking like even a top 5 for me. he KOed over 35 bums, many just starting their career in their 1st bout, he had a rought time with the handful of good one he faced and at best had a draw with Pintor but it's a loss on his record, and Pintor is not top 10, maybe just outside the top 10, but either way he had it too rought with Pintor and Zamora, Fenech & Gomez beat him, he just never looked that aweseome to me in the fights i've watched of him. I think several guys out of the top 10 like Canizales and others give him a tough fight and have a chance to beat him.
Chandler looks very good at his best in the fights I've seen that are available, he would give any BW a good fight with a shot to win, I think he could beat Zarate who i believe is highly overrated.
Zarate really has no business in the top 2-3 spots I agree. I can see a case for top 5 but towards the 7-8 area seems a bit more accurate IMO.
Galaxy fought at 'Bantamweight' virtually his entire career. If you weighed more than 112 but no more than 118, you were a Bantamweight. As for your example, I think you need to look back at the time period. Any fight where a fighter weighed more than 175lbs in Dempsey's time was a Heavyweight match up. At best you could argue when one fighter weighed less than 175 it was a catchweight fight. Boxing did not start in 2010 my friend.
Well Dixon really wasn't a bantamweight. Because the two weights seemed almost interchangeable at times and because of the relationship between the modern weights and ye olde weights, he's often appraised as a bantamweight. But off the top of my head he had only one title fight at the the then limit. His range is 50-56 for me. McGovern is tougher, but his story is similar. His win over Palmer is astonishing, and his victory over Harry Forbes is very impressive, but further to this, his probable third best win at the weight is Tim Callahan and he needed multiple shots at him to shake of learning.
