No. You did the same thing 3-4 years ago with the sole purpose of smearing Dempsey so you can get your rocks off. Did not work then..won’t work now. You got your head handed to you because knowledgeable posters saw through what you were trying to do.
Can you make a cogent argument with any backing whatsoever? Are refuting that the domestic violence victim Maxine Cates was lying or that she is not to be believe because she was a random female and not a famous male athlete? Or are you asserting that i am making these quotes up whole cloth. Jesus, did I have to spell it out for you? I've been hit in the head hundreds of times and put together a few thoughts in succession. Can you do the same and replicate your argument here?
Yes you can! Just like you cherry picked information regarding Dempsey landing a low blow on Sharkey but ignoring the mountain of headlines that showed he did not land a low blow. You are the king of choosing only the data that creates history as you want it to be. Not how it was.
Yet, with all the making up of news you claim was done (fake news?), you can't find sh*t. to back up your arguments. I have asked you repeatedly to offer substantiation to any of your claims and you provide nothing. So, either your statement above is false or you are unable to navigate a periodical. Again, was I making up Cates quotes whole cloth, was I quoting reputable newspapers or do you merely chose not to believe in victim in that relationship?
I didnt need to cherry pick it. I can see it very clearly on the film. Anyone with one eye and half a brain cell can see it. Nevermind that Sharkey didnt go down clutching his jaw from Dempsey hercules like left hook (lol) he went down clutching his family jewels. Sorry but the myth that Dempsey knocked Sharkey out with that left is pure unadulterated horse****. If Sharkey had enough wherewithal to even try to milk the DQ by clutching his nuts then he wasnt knocked out by some dynamite punch and the sad fact is that there were numerous low blows captured clearly on camera preceding the supposed knockout. The fact is that you dont like it when people dont share the same lofty opinion of Dempsey that you do. When people illustrate to you that even in his own time the same criticisms were prevalent you claim we are cherry picking. If you had ever done 1/100th the research into the contemporary sources of this era that I have youd realize how asinine your comment that you can find anything to support a supposed argument in the old papers. My suggestion is that if you dont like hearing criticisms of Dempsey then dont read the old papers and dont come onto boxing forums with people who have. Instead close yourself off to the world and curl up with that hagiography by Roger Kahn "A Flame of Pure Fire." Thats definately more to your liking. I prefer to read BOTH sides of the story. Vocalizing both sides of the story and citing sources that were a lot closer and knew a lot more than you isnt cherry picking. Dempsey was a fraud. Period. Yeah I said it. He became a contender on the back of several fights that most people thought were fixed, won his title from a fat, out of shape, ill trained oaf who hadnt fought in three years, defended it against a succession of men who didnt deserve to be anywhere near a HW title shot (and fought in constant violation of rules despite what his ignorant fans today believe), and avoided his top contender for seven ****ing years. If thats the guy who want to pretend was some killer. Go ahead, but you better grow a thick skin and get used to me continuing to point all of that out. And if you want to argue with me about it you better come with something more than dewy eyed hero worship. So far thats all Ive ever seen from you "houdini."
I am going to publish a two-part Dempsey biography series that will clarify, illuminate, and add many details no other biography has done. Part I should be released this year, 2020. Those who have read my bios know my style. Thoroughness and objectivity being my style, as much as possible.
Reach out to Mike Hunnicut. He's Dempsey historian and owns some of the best surviving films on the mauler. With Roger Khan's recent passing, he's got my vote for the most knowable fanboy around on JD. Did you ever write a Willard book?
OMG every phrase like "good opponent" or "Dempsey's strong combinations" or "hurting his sparring partners " would be changed to "paid off bums", "Dempseys feminine slaps" and "Greb embarrassed the fraud".
