Barrera - Morales for me. All 3 showed elite levels of skill, violence and heart.

Gatti-Ward is my sentimental favorite(little surprise, there, right?), with Ali-Frazier counting as the most important and monumental, and FotC and Thrilla are unparalleled in terms of modern day legend. But I do think I might agree with Roughdiamond on Barrerra-Morales as being the highest quality trilogy taking all three fights into account and the mix of technique and guts are tough to beat.

Ali-Frazier 1 and 3. Sure 2 was disappointing but so was the second fight of Barrera-Morales and Gatti-Ward.

Ali vs Frazier followed closely by Barrera vs Morales.

Barrera vs Morales first fight is the best ever though.

Ali-Frazier I & III were classics as were Morales-Barrera I & III. The middle matches were so-so in both. Maybe an edge to Ali-Frazier as I don’t think Morales-Barrera III was as good as FOTC or Thrilla though fight I was arguably just as good.

Marquez-Vazquez were all great fights and actually improved as the series went on but just feel perhaps because I & II were fairly quick it falls just short of those top two.

Bowe Holyfield 1 was one of the greatest fights I've ever seen.

All of them were phenomenal but I believe Patterson Johansson was the worst of the bunch.

Vazquez-Marquez was the greatest trilogy of all time imo (in terms of pure action). Ignore the 4th fight.

Single greatest fight out of all the trilogies mentioned: Morales-Barrera I

Greatest trilogy in terms of entertainment and significance (legacies of fighters involved and impact on boxing): Ali-Frazier and it's not even close.

For me the best fight here was Gatti Ward 1 and then closely followed by Ingo Patterson 3.

But neither of them trilogies are better than the best ones mentioned here. For me I'd say the best full trilogy was Marquez Vasquez. Whilst Holyfield Bowe, Ali Frazier and Barrera Morales are on a similar level slightly below.

Then after that I'd say Ingo Patterson and Gatti Ward as a tier below then with Graziano vs Zale last but not least.

Funny, they're actually some of my favourite fights.

There's not a right and wrong to what you like though.

Morales vs. Barrera for me. The 2nd fight was not as good as the other fights, but compared to Zale vs. Graziano III, Gatti vs. Ward II, or Ali vs. Frazier II it really that much of a let down. It was still a really fast-paced match with suspense and twists and turns. It was just more tactical than the others.

Marquez vs. Vasquez might be the best overall in terms of action though. It was a rare rivalry where there wasn't a disapointing fight; each installment was undeniably better than the previous fight.

However, I have to say that it just didn't feel like it had the same stakes as the other big rivalries, even though both guys belong in the IBHOF
