The only fight I had him losing was Castillo 1 which iirc I had 116-112 for Castillo. The only other truly close fights which imo where toss ups was DLH and Maidana 1. DLH I had losing iirc 115-113 and Maidana 1 I had 114-114.
If we are being serious I think maidana 1 was just as close to call as Castillo 1. He done enough to get the W, and done the right thing and rematched. What more can he do?
I believe he's at least 0-56.. The fighters he didn't fight should just count as a loss.. All the rest should have won because because...
What really is a shame both Floyd & Canelo are very talented boxers, they had the incredible skill to take them all the way & would leave a great legacy BUT!! In my opinion, for what its worth, both made the same mistake of giving in to the pressure of what is BLATANT corruption in Vegas. They changed from Fighters to just puppets. They knew just do as we tell you & you will never be allowed to lose here in Vegas. They both lost fights but the Vegas corruption made sure they secured "wins" Both have dark clouds over their heads regarding the use of Ped's too which cannot be denied Sure this made them both very rich men but it also destroyed their credibility & really has hurt their legacies in the sport. Neither will, nor should they, ever be regarded as ATG's like Ali, Robinson etc & its no ones fault but their own. Case Closed
Na mayweather was 100% getting set up to lose and pass the torch to canelo in that fight but his performance made it impossible. MD for mayweather despite winning every round. Mayweather got some genuine cards despite being the face of boxing. Look at maidana 1, cotto etc
Castillo is the only debatable one. And I've always said that if fights were judged overall, I'd give Maidana the win. But they are judged on rounds and Floyd won more.
Castillo 1 is the only clear loss. The others are all haters hating. Pac draw? Pac Won 3 maybe 4 rounds at most. Ortiz? Well, if you're calling DQ for FM, then Ortiz should have been DQ'd for the blatant headbutt. The others are clear wins for FM. He out landed his opponents in every one of those fights.
Ortiz was penalized rightfully for the headbutt, Cortez deducted a point he was tired of complaining to Cortez about Floyds elbow shivers he was letting happen. Plus Cortez NEVER gave the required order to " Box on" before Floyds cowardly attack. Do you think for one minute Cortez would have counted Floyd out had the position been reversed?? Get real
Failed attempted trolling. The only fight he arguably lost was Castillo I, and personally I had him winning it. Harold Lederman's card has driven a lot of the subsequent mythology about that fight. I very much disagreed with his scoring that night.
Agreed. The mythology of 116-112 Castillo appears to have been ingrained in boxing folklore. In reality it was as close as maidana 1 imho
I thought he just edged Castillo I, but wouldn't have had an issue if they gave it to Castillo because that would have been within the realm of reason from judges sitting at ringside. I though the Oscar fight was close, but haven't watched it in a while. I do recall that Oscar threw the win away by refusing to use his jab at points in the fight. Ortiz, was similar to Rigondeaux KOing that Asian guy. It looked suckerish, but totally legal. You have to protect yourself at all times. Maidana I. Floyd won that fight clearly. There is a difference between having a rough time of it, and having a close fight. Maidana made Floyd work at times, but he didn't come close to winning either fight in my opinion. I thought the Pac fight could have went either way. Floyd did get out touched when I reviewed the fight, but both guys landed so little, that I felt they both should have been given an L, or been made to fight three more rounds. That dud harmed boxing.
