I don't think it prove anything. Fury easily took Wallin way too lightly and fury lucky Wallin don't have the pop like Ruiz does. I guarantee fury will train hard and be focused on wilder in the rematch.
Whytes level? Hahaha Whytes the rooftop party, Wallin is lost on the ground floor. Whyte would either KO wallin or TKO him or RTD him Fury got exposed, real question is why Wallin never went for the cut... thats all you had to do... nothing else His trainer? Didnt even mention it..? We could all be Wallins trainer at this rate
To me it was more of a case of Fury looking flat and having a rough night and probably looking past Otto, more than Wallin being anything special. It happens, fighters have off nights. I don't know why boxing fans cant ever understand that. Throughout your career, you're going to have nights where you feel flat, sluggish or subpar and just don't have it and/or sometimes its just a bad style matchup. Credit to Fury for grinding through it and getting a W, that's all that matters. Great fighters find ways to win when their not at their best or catch a tough style matchup. It happens all the time. I know it's hard for some to comprehend, but having an off night here or there or struggling with a certain style and timing, doesn't necessarily make you an "overrated bum". Another recent example was when Callum Smith fought Nieky Holzken, everyone thought he was going to absolutely mutilate the former kickboxer, who was a WBSS alternate for Braehmer and had zero high level opponents on his boxing resume. Not only did he not stop him, Smith just didn't look very good that night. After the fight Callum simply said he had a rough night and struggled with Nieky's timing and style. It happens, but he won and moved on. That's all that counts. Like I said, throughout a long career, you're gonna have bad nights, you can't be sharp and spectacular every time out. Every fighter that's ever lived has had bad nights at the office.
he may be borderline rank 10-15... I mean look at the top 9 1:fury 2:wilder 3:andy 4:aj 5:whyte 6: parker 7: ortiz 8: potvetkin 9: pulev after those you got rivas, miller and kownacki.. he could compete with those 3 in my opinion. hrgovic, ajaga and usyk obviously will probs be top 20 soon but ye
I reckon hes between 25-30 but with the potential to move up. Need to see him vs someone who is also ranked. Whyte starches him,no question.
I guess we should not believe the hype, to be honest who was Ruiz before the AJ fight? Otto Wallin is really good, and so is Ruiz but there should be more great fighters who never got the opportunity to shine.
Wallin I would have @ 8-10 in HWs atm after last night we will know more if he faces a HW in the top 10.I'd like to see him v Potvetkin.
Jury is out on Wallin until he goes in with another ranked opponent but we can say he performed well above expectation here. Fury was poor though has to be said.
