Well... hes the favorite to win, against a Kova that most people view as ready to be beaten. So while I think it would be a very good win, it needs to be kept in perspective. Since I am picking Kova to win, if Kova looks good in there but Canelo is simply better, Canelo will go up in my estimation.
I just hope its a fair fight, with no corruption involved & the better man on the night getting the deserved win. This would be great but very few fans believe that will happen. Canelo is not liked by many mainly due to Oscar DelaHoya & the way they get preferential treatment from the NSAC & Vegas boxing officials. Add to this the popping dirty for clenbutrol TWICE. The claim he ingested tainted beef hardly holds water when his manager & trainer are BUTCHERS who must be well aquainted with the Mexican beef problem. I think sergey Kovalev must ko or stop Canelo to get the win he wont win a dec in Vegas
Canelo removed himself from VADA testing and now he's fighting Kovalev. Canelo is juiced out of his mind.
Canelo beating Kovalev Will be as good if not better than: AJ beating Klitschko Kovalev beating Hopkins Pacquiao beating Barrera and Morales Those fights gave the winner a lot of clout so I think Canelo deserves the same if not more considering he's jumping in weight.
I disagree with Hops and Klitschko. They were in their 40's and not on the P4P list. Kov still has some fight in him. This would be a big win for Canelo.
I expect Canelo to beat an ageing Kovalev who has shown signs of being on the decline. With Canelo should of really lost to GGG twice and Lara beating Kovalev wouldnt make me put him ahead of Loma, Usyk, GGG and Inoue. Beating Bivol would be a more impressive achievement at present.
