The Lineal Champion, yes I know its FAKE, but...…….. Wallin off the boxing rules should have been the new champion on a cut. If people go back to my post I said a CUT may change the dynamic of THIS fight . As a fan though I was glad it was let to continue, you really should give benefit of doubt to a proven guy and lets not pretend all the money backing fury on ESPN. . Had Wallin got a gash ,no way does that fight get past round 6. I fought with one eye before in a fight I was winning where it was stopped and I know it sucks, but going by RULES ,Wallin should have won ,fury really lucked out here that Wallin didn't have championship rounds experience . Great fight hope Wallin concentrates on direct power punching, he nailed Tyson really good in the 12th and should have had more of them if hes throwing them in last round. On The Cut/ Cuts : vitali Klitschko came back 6 months later with just as bad or worse cut ? then Fury. The problem is Furys smaller cut over the eye ,that will lead to more prone cuts itself but I could buy into he comes back quickly ,worse case they push the rematch back a month or 2 with Wilder ? Or they scrap it for now ,and wilder fights Kownacki should he get by Ortiz . Of course Fury is going to lie about seeing clear in the fight, hes not going to tell anyone he cant see. If he does that he loses ,he did what he had to do and got by.Any real fighter wont care about much and panic they will go about the fight and try and win it ( See : Vitali klitschko)
Going by the rules? What? What rule says that if the cut is bad, the fight has to be stopped? Plenty of guys have gone the majority of a fight with a bad cut.
That not true at all, most fights get stopped when blood goes into the eye and having deep laceration above the eye as well. it would be foolish to debate this,
But he is still alive and he's perfectly fine, so it was clearly the right decision to keep him in the ring? How can you possibly say it's the wrong decision? These decisions are based on putting health first above all else. He's not dead, and he's not injured in any life-changing way. He can still continue to box and he'll still be able to box just as well as before. So what's the problem? I would only pull someone out if the injury was actually affecting their performance massively to the point that they weren't competitive and at risk of a big knockout. Was Fury any of those things? Absolutely not. The point is..you can say he could have had a blind eye and all the rest of it..but the facts are that he doesn't have a blind eye.
Nah, that's crap. The doc gets to decide if the fight stops or not. The cut was bad, yes, but clearly not bad enough because Fury won the last half of the fight fairly handily. Vitali on the other hand had a worse cut that was clearly affecting his vision because he was getting tagged by punches that he avoided earlier. Then we have to take into account the opponents. Wallin seems like a ho-hum puncher who isn't going to worry too many people. Lewis on the other hand could crush people's faces with his shots. The situations are different and the Fury fight should not have been stopped, unless it was for the blatant thumbing/lacing of the cut by Wallin who was risking a DQ.
Another lug head who posts and doesn't even read the thread,if you did you would see I said I was glad it wasn't stopped.
So you have reading difficulties do you ? Always fun when some posters exploit how dumb they are. lol
I don't get it. It's professional boxing, so if a boxer wants to continue they should let him. Within reason, of course. But the fact that Fury was able to box for all remaining rounds just proves that the decision to not stop the fight was correct.
The fact is they wouldn't stop any fights if boxers COULD just box on., we all know the fight should've been stopped but we got a better fight because of it. You don't really believe had Fury been fighting on a different network not under Bob Arum the fight continues bc you would be lying and I know your not a liar. lol
If a fighter cannot count a number of fingers showed up it would get stopped, why wasn't this used? I tell you why bc chances are Fury lost some peripheral vision . You are fooling yourself if you really think it wasn't OVER the mark to get stopped.
