I think it's possible that Fury would've been allowed to continue even if he were fighting on another network. When the cut appeared initially I was shocked: "Omg, they gonna stop the fight!" But then, when Fury's cutman did a nice job on it, it gave me hope. Even in the 11th round I was worried. But Fury was able to continue, so again, not to stop it was the right decision, in my opinion. A champion is always given a little bit more of the benefit of the doubt. Also, Wallin failed to land additional punches directly on the cut (that blatant foul doesn't count.) Thanks.
Listen, do I think the fight would have been stopped had the roles been reversed? Yes I do. Does it really matter? No because Fury won the fight and that is what matters. There was no controversial decision. No bull**** TKO. It was a tough and gritty fight but a big underdog. Respect to Wallin. Let's move on.
This. The cut was bad but if it was bad enough to end the fight - then how did Fury manage to go on and get a comfortable points win? Bit of common sense is all that is needed here.
I'm sure Galvatron on BN24 knows better than the ringside physician.. Just by virtue of Fury winning the fight alone (& winning pretty well in the second half particularly..) validates the docs decision .. it clearly demonstrates he was justified & Fury was fit enough to continue & keep performing .. it's pretty self explanatory all this bro lol
Yes the fight very likely would've been waved off had Wallin suffered a cut like that just like the respective undefeated records of Ward and Floyd would've be no more had they fought Kovalev and JLC anywhere outside the US, let alone in Russia and Mexico. Not only have we seen Fury comeback from the brink of destruction in his personal life after suffering a nervous breakdown, coming close to committing suicide, and putting his body through the kind of abuse during his 3 year exile from the sport with enough booze and coke to put a million rock stars in an early grave, but he also managed to whip himself back into shape after ballooning up to 410lbs after putting away enough junk food every day to feed the population of the US for a decade. And let's not forget we all also saw the 40% inactive drug-ravaged shell of his grandfather's suicidal muscle atrophied shot ghost rise from the dead like a gypsy Lazarus after Bum Squad detonated the best right hand he has thrown or will ever throw flush on Fury's chin. Refs aren't stupid and they know as well as anyone that we gypsies are a different breed from mere mortal man and that you have to factor that in before making the decision to wave a fight off or not. You think Jack Reiss didn't also take the fact that Fury's a gypsy into consideration when he was evaluating whether to wave the fight off or not after Fury had suffered that heavy KD in round 12? You think a little nick on the eye is going to discourage a gypsy in the slightest let alone one the Powers That Be couldn't break the spirit of with all their collective might and who were added and abetted every step of the way by the entire establishment main stream media? lol
That was a horrible cut and Fury is lucky the fight wasn't stopped. 100 million dollars has an effect!
Yes he lied the cut was affecting him massively once the blood started to ramp up which happened pretty much as soon as he go hit on it.. The Dr wiped all the vas off it to which make it far worse the round he checked it.. Problem with boxing the rules for the 'A' side get changed to help them hence Wilder getting the gift draw when he clearly lost... Fury was lucky it was Wallin not someone better or worse not being the 'A' side cause he would have lost..
Lennox blatantly thumbed then used his dreads on Vitali's cut. guess it is okay when a Brit does it to someone else.
