To answer the question the thread poses the answer is NO!!
If the fight is held at the correct weight of 175 limit ,which is the only way it would be legal, the weights of both fight night wont be more than 5 pounds apart.
The fight being held in Canelo's hometown haven Vegas has everyone saying all Canelo has to do is be standing at the final bell & he cannot lose. no need to hide that fact even the corrupt commission havent tried to hide it in the past.
In fact, with Clen & Floyd NEITHER of them come anywhere close to Manny Pacquaio as fighter of the Era & Fighter of the Decade. Both have too many dark clouds of suspicion of cheating, Ped's abuse& corruption in officiating which in my opinon has been BLATANT !! In fact I have no respect whatsoever for either .
Pacquaio's resume is head & shoulders above Clen & Floyd's In fact I rank GGG 's resume as better than both too. He should still be the undefeated World Middleweight Champion today & I'm far from alone in that opinion

I dont know dino or dance84 well enough to comment... but I agree that you, shadow and JM are very respectable posters in terms of how you conduct yourselves in conversations and at least you are always open to a civil discussion.

My 'hasnt been my experience' comment wasnt to imply that theres not golovkin or pac fans on here that dont behave the way you say they do, my comment was directed at you saying Canelo die hards are reasonable. And I say again, thats not my experience with Canelo fans.

While you are, for the most part usually fairly polite, I find you irrational, extremely biased and thus, your willingness to engage in civil discussion tends to get poisoned by those traits.

    Thats just my opinion though.

Also... for the record, Im also not saying that Canelo fans *in particular* are irrational and unreasonable. I tend to think any fighters whose popular enough to have a large amount of diehard fans are prone yo having fans that fit that description.

Its not so much what I think of Canelo diehards as much as it is how I tend to view many (not all) diehards, of any fighter. Tis the nature of the beast, imo, in terms of being a diehard.

    Just imo.

Good post, except for calling me irrational LOL

I will admit I am bias. I think every single person and fan of boxing is biased in one way or another. I tend to be biased in favor of fighters I'm a fan or, and I'm a fan of fighters who posses certain elements I appreciate.

As far as being irrational, I completely disagree, and I think you're being irrational for viewing me this way. I've known you a long time, and I would like to make you a challenge, I'd like to challenge you to post at least 5 posts within the last five years that you deem irrational.

You see, I would never say something about anyone unless I had something to back it up, and I'm sure you are the same way.

I don't rate Canelo higher than Mayweather, but that's a flawed argument.

Antonio Margarito destroyed Sergio Martinez but we all rank Martinez higher.

    My thoughts exactly.

Change the name on the title to Pacquiao or Golovkin and this thread becomes a cesspool of feces with Pacterds or GGGoons yelling off the top of their lungs.

The initial knee jerk reaction to say "hell no" or "not even close" is understandable but the premise is not that far-fetched.

I respect your challenge Isal. And I will do so (it won't be soon... but I will do it and tag you in the post when I get a good block of free time this week) Though I dont look forward to combing through endless posts

The thing is this, whatever I find and post of yours that I interpret as irrational, will almost intrinsically be seen as not irrational, to you. And what will happen is I will post examples, and you will counter with why they are not irrational. I feel it will just lead to needless and pointless bickering.

But like I said, I respect your challenge and when I get the opportunity I will go through n try to find some examples.

I'd consider his resume at that point greater than Mayweather's, but still not as good as Pacquiao's.

That is because Sergio Martinez improved and a lot people think it would have gone very differently if they fought again. Canelo is a good fighter and has probably improved too, but not enough. He was thoroughly bested with movement and pot shotting by a past it, smaller Floyd.

Yeah but neither was Canelo. Hey was 23, had stamina issues and weight drained.
