1. D. Wilder 2. A. Ruiz 3. T. Fury 4. A. Joshua 5. A. Povetkin The top two are obvious, the other 3 i have them there for now but i think their top 5 status is up for debate at this stage.
1. Ruiz - beat the guy with by best resume in the divison 2. Aj - had by far the best resume but has just lost. 3. Whyte - most impressive win streak in the dvision. 4. Povetkin - proven solid in depth but not spectacular resume of wins over Fury, Price, Hammer, Rudenko, Duhaupas, Wach, Perez, Takam, Charr, Rahman, Huck & Chagaev. Only loses came to the number 1 HW in the divion at the time. 5. Parker - decent resume of Wins over Ruiz, Takam, Hughie and Dimitrenko. 6. Wilder - one notable win over Ortiz. Them a collection of wins of guys the level Breazeale, Duhaupas, Spzilka, Washington, Molina, Stiverne and Arreola. 7. Pulev - wins over Chisora, Hughie, Dimitrenko & Ustinov. 8. Hunter - Wins over Bakole, Kuzmin &, Ustinov. After that it's close between the likes Ortiz, Kownacki, Miller, Chisora, Dubois and Joyce. I can't really include Tyson Fury as he hasnt beaten a top 40 HW in almost 4 years despite having the ability.
1. Joshua 2. Hrgovic 3. Fury 4. Whyte 5. Ruiz Heads up: Parker, Povetkin, Usyk, Hunter, Wallin. Radar: Ajagba, Dychko, Yoka, Mahkmudov, Dubois Most improved: Wilder
Top 3: Tyson Fury, Andy Ruiz Jr, Deontay Wilder It makes no sense to rank those guys from 1-3. I think Fury would beat both (he already beat one of them), but Ruiz is definitely dangerous and Wilder probably also has a good chance to beat Ruiz. Who knows. I don't rank them until they gonna fight each other. 4. Joshua Clearly. No question about that. You might be able to add him to the group above if he beats Ruiz in the rematch. 5-20 Ortiz, Povetkin, Pulev, Whyte, Hunter, Miller, Hrgovic, Rivas, Kownacki, Parker, Joyce, Chisora, Dubois, Ajagba, Kabayel, Jennings
1. Fury 2. AJ 3. Whyte 4. Wilder 5. Ruiz I have the top 2 locked in, but the other 3 are up for debate. Ruiz makes his way into my list for the first time. Can't have AJ top after he lost against Ruiz, so I have to have him below Fury. Ruiz I kinda wanted to have out of there, but I can't ignore the belts..so I was very torn. Whyte and Ruiz have both faced Parker and both fights were close, so it may make sense to swap them around. Wilder went down in my estimation even further (It wasn't high to begin with) after Wallin managed a similar level of performance against Fury minus the knockdowns. I still think Fury had an off-day, but another average performance against a lesser known opponent and I'm gonna take action and put him down a few spots. I really wanted to have Povetkin in there, but Whyte's resume and both Wilder's and Ruiz' belts can't be ignored. I still think he is dangerous against all of my top 5, other than AJ although Povetkin does seem to have aged a little as the Hughie fight proved. If Ruiz beats AJ again, then he can take 2nd spot, maybe even first if Fury puts in any more bad performances. And if Ruiz does beat AJ, I have to consider Parker's position in all of this as well. There's a Whyte-Parker-Ruiz-AJ puzzle to be figured out if Ruiz wins the second time. 2020 is huge for these rankings, all 5 of these are on the edge of a cliff. Whyte could be found cheating, Ruiz may end up being a fluke, Fury needs to prove himself in his next fight, and both AJ and Wilder can't afford to lose or have bad performances otherwise they'll be out of the top 5 altogether. There are so many contenders right now, but I played it safe.
1) Fury - I thought he beat Wilder and is still unbeaten, despite looking a little poor against Wallin. Would pick him against all the other guys currently though 2) Ruiz Jr - best W in the division and it was a beat down 3) Wilder - such an intriguing fighter. Has an alright record though not particularly good. Cannot be ruled out in any fights 4) AJ - good chance to get himself back up the rankings against Ruiz Jr 5-10) take your pick really. Pulev\Povetkin\Ortiz still seem to be hanging around despite their age. Hunter and Joyce both look good value and the other prospects look good too, though they still need to put some wins together. Then you have guys like Kabayel and Whyte too. I'd have to really sit down and give it a lot of thought to do a proper top 10. Going to give my 5 spot to Povetkin for now but I won't resist challenges to that
