If you had a fighter against him and you're their coach , what advice would give them?

have a tag team partner, start training with Grizzly bears and get on Allah's good side.
Joking aside Dustin did have Khabib hurt for a while and not surprisingly it was done whilst standing up.
Problem is that when you do stun him,he just goes in to beast mode and takes you down.
Ain't seen anyone who can resist Khabibs takedowns, looks awful as he's talking to you all the while he's mauling you to death.

Don't know if anyone here follows the mma analyst Luke Thomas, but he argues that the conventional approach of trying to turn to base and stand up after being taken down by Khabib is a road to failure. He argues that Khabib's familiarity with and command over those steps is too vast for the defending fighter too overcome.

Thomas believes that people need to try new ideas. How would it go if Tony Ferguson tries to play guard against Khabib; blasting him with those sharp elbows from bottom while shooting triangles and going for ommoplatas. Michael Bisping had a ton of success with elbows from guard against GSP, and even if GSP at that stage wasn't quite the same force as Khabib is now, he was still a world-class black belt with suffocating top control.

Brian Ortega tweeted that he would have put Khabib to sleep if he'd been the one applying that guillotine, instead of Poirier. I can't disagree. Ortega's boxing is sharp as hell too, although the rest of his striking arsenal is unimaginative. He's a huge featherweight, and another shot at the title there looks far off with Volkanowski, Korean Zombie, and Zabit all in line ahead of him, so why not move to 155 and start a campaign for a new title?

Justin Gaethje has awesome grappling credentials, although you would never know it from his fighting style. It would be interesting to see Khabib try to take down a D1 All American who is hell bent on staying off the mat. Gaethje has one punch power in both hands, and if he lets loose with leg kicks without fear that could make things interesting.

All of that said, I'd favor Khabib over all three by various margins.

    A-Level talents beat him.

Sorry but Homer Simpson & Porier are C-Grade. Connor McGregor is no boxer.

Canelo with six months take down defense KO Khabib

Yeah Luke Thomas is definitely 1 of the better mma journos and worth following for those looking for more in depth strategy discussions and other topics many in the MMA media don't discuss enough like fighter pay etc.

Khabib is a totally different animal at the top of his game, with an ever improving stand up game that helped fill a few little holes but I still believe he has beaten up on low-mediocre level fighters throughout the majority of his career and there remains questions about him that won't be answered until he beats other top fighters at there peak like TFerg, who brings an intensity and pace he has never had to deal with.

Obviously styles make fights, especially in MMA and there is at least a few guys like those mentioned who each offer a different challenge,
capable of testing and taking Khabib into deeper waters he hasn't been or needed to go

Knock his ass out. At times he stands in to punch, when he shouldn't. You have to capitalize on that. I think Woodley would be a bad match up for him.

At 170 lbs, yes he would. That's why imo you won't ever see Khabib move up to fight at 170. There are heaps of guys who he would have lots of trouble with. There is all this talk about Khabib wanting to fight GSP but only at 155. GTFO go up to 170 if you want to challenge a legendary old fighter like GSP. A bit of a cowards move that is by Khabib to be honest. Either challenge GSP at 170 or don't mention his name.

I would love to see how Gregor Gillespie (former ncaa div 1 wrestling champ) would do against Khabib. That guy has looked very good so far although against sup par opposition. Hopefully in his next fight he gets a top 10 opponent.

Also if he was forced to fight 2-3 times a year. His body can't take the brutal cut that frequently.

    I rewatched the conor fight
    This content is protected

In the 3rd round conor won it with kness to the body and staying at the center ,attacking the body with straight kicks body punches, I think it will slow him down tremendously. Easier said than done.

I'm sick of these guys winning a belt then you don't see them fight for a whole year and they turn into divas expecting super fights/calling out legends like GSP etc who don't even fight in his weight class.

As a champion you should defend against the top contender in the weight class at least every 6 months. You should never refuse to fight the legit top contender/who the ufc enforces you to defend against. If you don't defend regularly and start getting a princess mentality you should be rightfully stripped.

Advance. Khabib is not successful with takedowns in the center like he is when the opponents back in on the cage.

THAT is the biggest factor of the Tony fight, Tony is not going to take any back steps to avoid the TD.
