Ah he forced her into signing the contract by offering her life changing money? What a scoundrel that man Hearn is...

If you're involved in negotiations you understand that much depends on what your options are and what alternatives you have. Taylor took the decision to sign with Eddie Hearn and she now has lots of options and relative power in the division. Hearn has helped to build her career and when he sits down to negotiate with Cohen it's emphatically not a level playing field. That's just the way the cookie crumbles.

That imbalance translates to Katie having a rematch clause and not having to grant one to her opponent. Fair? Probably not. Cohen has the choice to walk away and seek an alternative fight or to accept the clause and make sure that Hearn pays the maximum in other areas of the contract to sweeten the pill. That's negotiation.

Ultimately the deal is either acceptable or its not. Once its signed however it's bad form to start bitching about things you agreed to. It also makes you look weak and incompetent. Eddie won't mind, all this nonsense helps promote this fight.

The money they earn in comparison with the lads is peanuts. Katie got no more than 100k for her last fight. Linardatou won't be getting anywhere near that, but that's how it is, rightly or wrongly. I don't know the amount but it will be significantly less than 100k. That is not to say it's right, but that is where we are till things change, though I don't expect that change anytime soon.

Im not the biggest fan of Hearn but nobody forced the opponents to sign the fight.

Its not even a talking point to me, its like starting a new job then complaining on the first day that you arent getting paid enough. It makes no sense.
