Greb uses a ring with 4 corners. Conor uses and Octagon with 8. Conor McGregor can use over double the amount of angles Edward Henry Greb can. It's all about angles. Conor has the advantage of modern nutrition and touch-butt in the park, which was nowhere near as advanced in Greb's time. And dat left hand tho. It's obvious who wins.
I don't think the second sentence follows on from the first. To go from "No sane human being would allow them in the same ring." to "Noone wins because the fight isn't sanctioned." the boxing sanctioning bodies would have to be run by sane people, which they clearly aren't.
The funny thing is Conor McGregor is light years beyond Harry Greb. The old timers on this forum will type but Harry Greb is a legend. Yeah he a is legend because of what he did in his era. Compared to even somebody like McGregor every boxer from that era were primitive. This is like saying well since George Mikan the NBA player was considered a legend back in the 1940's so that means he would be considered a legend if he played today. Two different era's. The NBA has evolved since then and so has boxing. What was considered good back in the 1910's wouldn't be considered good for modern boxing standards.
McGregor actually has a very predictable stand up game when he doesn't KO his man with the first punch he lands, pretending for a second I'm taking this post remotely seriously. He has about 3 pet moves and when they don't work he falls apart...Harry Greb on the other hand
Boxing like all sports has been getting better overtime, but there are levels, McGregor isn't nearly on a prime greb level. Also we have to base him off a mayweather that isn't 30 percent of the fighter he used to be in that mega fight and as far as malignaggi goes larz Ulrich could probably knock him out now. A engineer from the 1950s probably still knows more about engineering than a modern carpenter.
McGregor gasses out after the face off and quits after the round, afterwards he goes back to the bar to beat up more senior citizens.
