99% of the time since he started Boxing he has been the much taller and heavier man, so his style is based on that. He leans back with his head up and when he slips and ducks he leaves himself out of position all of the time. But he gets away with it most of the time because he has got great reflexes and is ****ing huge. That Wallin was reading his head movement, Tyson dipping to the same side every time. That is how he got hurt in the last round. He gets away with it mostly so it isnt bad, just his style. But he will get caught sometimes and be exposed out of position, as we have seen in numerous fights from the start of his career to now.
Good analysis - Does seem open to the left hook - RH often low and often dips to that side. Against Wilder he ll be more tuned in to jab & move. Wilder likely to take more risks - hopefully leaving him open to look stupid again & not an early KO win.
In my opinion Wallin vs Rivas would be close - you'll obviously disagree because you know that rating Rivas highly makes Whyte look better. There's probably no point debating Wallin vs Rivas because it's opinion vs opinion and neither of us will change our minds. It was interesting to see Fury adapt his style under the circumstances, I thought that was a good reflection on him actually. People know he can box, move and be awkward - but it's quite unusual to see him dig in and fight in the way that he did on Saturday. Arguably his greatest asset - his vision and thus awareness - was heavily impaired for the majority of the fight too so it was interesting to see him adapt.
Fair play man I respect your assessment, stylistically Wallin could pose problems for Rivas as I am not sure how Rivas fights 6’6 guys But interesting match id like to see As for Fury adapting sure, but isnt that what all fighting men do??? How many countless gypsies fought through s bloodied face with cuts and bare knuckles boxing
Exactly - I think Fury probably enjoyed it in some ways. It's rare to see him do that though, especially since he tidied up his style a few years ago. Was interesting to watch.
trouble seems to happen for him when he puts his head down, right in range of his opponent. strange for a tall fighter like that.
The flip side of this is that if fury is fighting a somebody then he doesn't need to worry about overlooking someone therefore when it counts as in against the best its not a flaw he needs to worry about
Except Whyte turned up to fight against Helenius but Helenius turned up for the paycheque I like many fighters, but I happen to like Dillian Whyte more than others. I am spending a fortune to go see Tyrone Spong fight Usyk I think that speaks volumes
https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/AD-SPORT-GRAPHIC-Most-Punches-Landed-Fury.jpg Most punches landed by any fighter on Fury was achieved by Wallin Fury on the decline or one eye had him eating more shots? Funnily Chisora is at number 2 of most landed on Fury well above klitchko You know the Chisora people are always denigrating @Max Thunder
Was that the first Chisora fight? Fury was a bit of a brawler back then. Peter later perfected his style. My only concern atm is that under Davison he will abandon the style Peter implemented.
Fair play on going to see usyk spong. That's on my birthday I'm excited for it. The reason I accuse you of such loyalism is due to blasphemy spoken to any fighter except the one displayed in your picture. I would add that Whyte is amongst my favourite boxers in this generation. But I don't have a favourite. However if whyte came to fight against helenius, who you state did not, that further backs up my original accusation that Whyte was poor against Helenius. It was boring and helenius landed the best punch in the fight.
