These are interesting discussions, when Hall was in Sydney a number of years ago i had the fortunate pleasure to meet him on 3 occasions. Can't bag the bloke, he was a nice guy..... That said, I have no opinion on his boxing ability. Paul Gallen (limited as he is - boxing ability) in my opinion is a bit of a grub..... maybe harsh as i have not meet him. However, based on his toughness and recent activity in the ring, id have to say he would probably beat Hall (who hasn't had a pro fight).

Shout out to young kiwi Jerome Joseph-Pampellone. He had a great world champs at 81kg with 3 wins and gave one of the best talents fighting this week a real run for his money. Benjamin Whitaker is very, very promising but he looked uncomfortable at times against Jerome. One judge thought he upset Whitaker. One to watch.
A couple of big controversies emerging at the World Amateur Boxing Championships - both in the Super Heavyweight division. Frazer Clarke, the Commonwealth games gold medalist, beat the Russian on a 3/2 split decision to make the semis. There are now stories circulating that the decision has been overturned & the Russian will be fighting in the semis instead. I'm sorry, but that's bs. Even worse, the Super Heavy #2 seed from Uzbekistan is actually a professional with a 6-0(6) record who is scheduled to fight on 29 September as a pro. He brutally knocked out the young American in the quarters. He shouldn't be allowed to fight. I'm glad both guys are in the other half of the draw but neither should still be in the tournament. Sounds like bs. I watched Nyika vs the Russian Muslim something or rather....and it was pretty close. The Russian simply swarmed Nyika but punches landed were fairly equal. Of course the Russian got the UD. Nyika will make a good pro.
